Regarding walkie talkies, are they legally permitted on public places? I ask this because we had to inform officials while we used the same at Mysore for a program.
The walkie talkies which we used operated in the range of 462- 466 MHz, with a power range of 0.5- 1 Watt.
These does not require license.
The frequency ranges of military, aeronautical and law enforcement professional sets are : 30- 88 MHz, 110- 175 Mhz and 225- 420 MHz.

At 462 Mhz, our walkie talkies did not have much range also (5 Nautical miles/ 8 Kms). As the frequency increases, the range decreases. That is the reason why VLF is used for round the globe communication on submarines.
The professional V/UHF sets will have ranges from 16- 50 nautical miles, depending on the elevation from the ground.

We had done this home work before we set foot to use these devices.
See, we did not want to barge into the police frequencies
Lest, Mr Rishi Raj Singh would be whipping us

Surely your kid will go places! A big pat on his back. How many actually went into that cold water !

One snap of the Ecosport please; minus Naveen! I know Naveen will kill me...

I had a quiet laugh looking at the walkie talkies bought for the drives! Where did the cell phones go ?
Thanks ampere for you kind words. Shall convey your 'pat on the back' to my son.

The Ecosport pic without naveen; here it goes

Thank you so much for this useful info Dhanush.
The ones we used had license and a copy of the same with other details were submitted to police while getting permission.

Re: Team-BHP Meet & Drive - Kochi

Dhanush, Naveen & Vaisakh left nothing for me to say!!

This Meet & Drive was extra-ordinary! The way the route was planned, the constant planning-updations over whatsapp, and the resort location, left me speechless!! Kudos to the planning team!

It was great to have hot-noodles at the cold top-station, munnar, but in the company of good friends, the experiance turned magical!

Buying tea-powder, home-made chocolates & herbal oils at 9pm was Fun!

Most of the time we all were hungry, and that kept us alert throughout the journey

It was indeed a great experience to drive thru all the fog, with NO foglamps. Plus the company of all the 'boys', with their families made this a memorable trip.

The photos taken by Vaisakh and Dhanush have turned out really well! I am fully motivated to buy a good camera, as soon as the budget permits it!

Looking forward to another drive (less hectic, more relaxing) very soon!!

OMIGOD!! What have I missed!! That was one hell of a trip by you guys. And lovely pics - as usual by our staff photographer - I loved the snap of the Butterflies with Speed.demon in the background

@Dhanush : You are giving tough competition to Vaisakh. Your kiddo is the life of any party, I think. I remember that he was quite so at our Abad resort meet too!!

jacs, rajoy123 and your better halves - Belated Anniversary wishes

I've to show this to my wife. We will not miss the next overnight meet!!

Now, waiting for the rest of the snaps from jacs and others

Thanks a lot.

As informed, not many clicks this time. Trying to resize to bring it below 1Mbps without losing much of content.

Fantastic pictures jacs.
Really awesome.
You have got some frames which the others could not manage. Difference in perspectives. And it does wonders to a frame.

My choicest ones are: 19,16,11,10 and 7
Simply out of the world.
Waiting for more.
