So all set! My first meet and I am lucky that it is the "Mega" meet. Would bringing the 'missus' along be a good idea. She is not much into cars (ironically she is a mechanical engineer) but she loves socializing.

What is the timing? A lunch meet or a dinner meet? How about Kamat's at Khandala with lots of parking? Or else it is one of the dhabas as always.

Please have a couple of guys as designated coordinators, decide on the food, menu or ordering and payment options. Please also circulate the contact details of the coordinators through PM for easy facilitation.

Just my pennyworth contribution. Why not have a beach meet instead? I don't think a place like Alibagh would do any harm. Even the resorts there with all full meal won't jerk our wallets much. What say guys?

The unreliable road conditions mean you will spend more time going there and coming back.

Since you have suggested this option after the poll has closed I suggest we include it for the next year's meet. By that time we may also have a predictable travel time for this route.

All Petrolheads, Dieselheads, CNGheads, Hybridheads, err basically all TBHPheads, only 5 days to go for the Meet now.

A few of us did a recce sort of thingy yesterday at Lonavala. VVB8530, Amansanc, Powertrain and me went down to Pawna Lake, had a good look around it and were pleasantly happy with the location. A large water body greets you with a chilly breeze giving you the much needed freshness. There are WaterSport activities albiet at a smaller scale. Boating, Jet Ski and Banana Ride is what we saw that was happening on the water front. There is this nice little restaurant right next to the water where we 'test ate' the food and the overall review was good. IMO parking would be easy for around 40 odd cars here.

We moved on to Kinara Dhaba to check it out however we were not given any assurance by the Mgmt Staff that they would accomodate us all. They said they cannot block either tables or parking for us. In case a few of us reached at a particular time, we would have to eat and clear the table for other customers, we cant even sit or wait at the tables with the group. This was not gelling with our plan for the meet and hence we decided to check out Sunny Da Dhaba which is a few kms ahead on the Old Mum - Pune Highway towards Pune.

Sunny Da Dhaba welcomed us with open arms and readily agreed to block a section of their restaurant and parking for us. After Kinara was rejected we were kind of dejected but we were relieved that we could block Sunny.

Plan ke mutabik (according to the plan):

- Mumbai Gang to gather at Panvel McDonalds at 6:00AM.
- Mumbai Gang will leave Panvel McDonalds by 6:30AM and drive to Lohagad Boat Club, Pawna Lake.
Hope to reach there by 8:00AM for Breakfast which has been confirmed with the restaurant. The place will be open.
- Meet the Pune Gang.
- Chill out, relax, go for water sports, take a dip, do some photo shoots, enjoy the nature or maybe pull up a chair and even take a power nap. Most importantly, Talk about Cars
- We leave Pawna by 12:00PM and head towards Sunny Da Dhaba. It will take atleast half hour to reach.
- Have a good lunch. Heard that a TBHP Meet has happened here before and also heard that the food was good.
- PhotoShoot. Obviously no Meet would be complete without a Photoshoot so calling all the expert snappers to get their cams.
- Wind up by evening when everyone starts remembering that we have to head home.

The main contention of such a meet is to meet fellow enthusiasts, attach a name and face to the handle, make new friends and have a good time overall and just talk cars. Would be great if we have a nice chunky turnout.

Road condition to Pawna is slightly rough. High end cars should be able to make it as we did see one on our way back. VVB says his Honda City made it without issues so.

Will update the maps in subsequent posts.

Would request Pune Guys to decide on their morning meeting point and reach Pawna by 8:00 / 8:30AM.

Great plan guys, so it gives us the option of either waking up early and going to Pavna, or having a lazy Sunday and coming straight to Sunnys by 1230pm. As of now count me in directly for lunch.

we Mumbai Guys can also take the Kamshet road after taking the 2nd exit to Lonavala so that we avoid the Sunday Traffic in Lonavala. This is just a suggestion.

Early morning won't be so tough while going for us. I would rather take the Kamshet road to go to Sunny from Pawna. That might save time.
