We are starting from Delhi on 28th Aug and already spending 2 nights in Srinagar. Many in our group are working professionals so our plan post Srinagar is very tight as we need to return on fixed date. Just for your info in case you can plan to start a day earlier, 29th Aug is Friday and Ganesh Chaturthi, Holiday in many organizations.

Guys, sorry to be back again after so much discussions and that too when I am the initiator myself. So here is my schedule

Leaving Pune on Aug14th Mid night and My trip is for 15 days. I will be accompanied by my wife and brother-in-law. Still a place in my Safari to fill in.

Guys, lets co-ordinate more now and make it a fool-proof plan for all to enjoy.

PS- I will post more on the planning in coming days.

If you start a day late, from Bangalore we ( in all probability 4 cars) shall join and travel together towards Leh. We are also starting on 15th august so will be in Mumbai by evening

A slight change of plan. Since wife has some issues with her leaves, she would instead fly to Leh from Pune and join me there on August 22nd. So accordingly, I have changed my start date from Aug 14th Midnight to 15th Morning or may be 16th morning, depending on the weather condition at that time. Depends on the time on my hand and when I should to start so that I reach Leh on 21st evening by latest.

All plans seems to be going for a toss. Due to job commitments, wifey is deprived of her promised leave and she isn't joining us on the trip; No, not even flying to Leh to catch us there.

So that leaves me and my brother-in-law to accomplish whatever we have planned.

And when it comes to me, all my plans get their due set of jerks always. Initial plan was to start from Pune on 15th Aug but leaves are few and far between in that window. Since there is a long week off at Japan (our headquarters) for energy conservation, big bosses there refused my leave from 15th but instead suggested me to plan my trip during the said long week off, with a couple of days hear and there added to the plan.

So guys, here it stands - I will be leaving on 8th Night at 9 PM from Pune. That is tomorrow. Excited and worried, all at the same time.

We are leaving on 7 sep. A few questions.
1) How are the road conditions especially on Tso moriri route?
2) Whether chushul permits are being given or not?
3) Any specific precaution to take?
