Use the ORR and get off at Dindigul. From there it is a brilliant stretch of tarmac all the way to Medak. Did this drive in September 2013. Was absolutely smashing.

Narsapur - Medak road is definitely not something we expect from ORR/express ways. It is fun to drive in those turns, forest & not to miss those monkeys. My Idea is that its little different.

@Avi, I dont know any great restaurant around Medak. I assume we may have some Dhaba's.
@Ocizer considering your frequent drives around that route, can you add any further?

I've been to Medak only once and had lunch in a small dhaba near Medak Church. I doubt there would be any good restaurants

Couple of notes on the Narsapur route....I did it may times and at various times of the day. Here is what one can expect.
1. Trek the Narsapur woods on the left of the road.Some water and lots of ,birds. monkeys eating different types of fruits...all in all a nice place to spend some time,
2. Further down there is Manjeera River. If one is lucky and the barrage is open there is a lot of water flowing for some fun time else there is very little water. Again a fun place.
3. Reaching Medak you have the church.
4. Further down you have a national park, permit can be obtained from Medak.
5. Finally Pocharam lake(I guess thats the name). Nice place, deserted govt buildings. This is a lake formed by a small Dam. Yu can walk on the dam or go around the ruins of the govt offices.

Medak has been exciting everytime. I drove via NH7 and Narsapu and would recommend the Narsapur route any day.

No Problem, we can stop on our return in any of the Medchal/Bowenpally Dhabas for lunch

If the outward route to Medak is being thought of via Narsapur, then the last meeting point should ideally be the junction of ORR with Narsapur Road near Dundigul Air Force Academy (Lucifer1881, Dundigul is in AP and Dindigul is in TN) as that will be the most suitable point for Gachibowli residents and other Villagers to assemble. Another meeting point could be the Narsapur Junction at Balanagar (start of Narsapur Road via Jeedimetla) as that would be suitable for residents of Banjara Hills, Srinagar Colony, Ameerpet, Begumpet, etc.

Isn't the FIH food fest happening this weekend at The Beach House? Why don't we try to make it to that by lunch time? There wouldn't be much space around to park a lot of cars though, considering the crowd that is expected for the food fest. NoRules might be able to shed more light on this one.
