Brilliant drive with amazing company. I thoroughly enjoyed the drive to and from Wayanad and everything which was part of the drive/trip; Eagerly looking forward to the next plan now . Wonderful snaps Rohan and Avinash .

I covered only the group photos towards the end and some timepass photos of the landscape just outside our cottages. The choice of resort / location in the forest and beside the stream was just heavenly and a nature lover's delight.

You have proved that Nikon is a waterproof camera(though it had gone underwater, it has clicked brilliant photos).

It was really comfortable to follow your car, and I thoroughly enjoyed the drive(this was the best mileage I got during my highway drives in the Polo TSi)

Depends on where you are headed to in Wayanad. If it is Sultan Bathery side your route will be Mysore-Nanjangud-Gundlepet-Bathery

Mysore-Nanjangud is a little rough (nothing to worry about) with heavy traffic if you are traveling at peak times. Nanjangud-Gundlepet, road widening happening, so expect lot of diversions and some bad sections due to the widening work. Gundlepet-Forest-Bathery and elsewhere in Wayanad, all great roads.

If you are headed towards Kalpetta/Vythiri/Manathavady etc.. best route is Mysore-Handpost-Bavalli-Kattikulam-Manathavady-Kalpetta (SH 33 from Mysore). Great roads through out with minimal traffic. Only point to note is that there are no family friendly places to stop between Mysore and Kattikulam.

Sunny, don't think this is true anymore. 4-Laning/Widening has kicked off in a big way between Nanjangud and the forest entry. What was a relaxed drive with minimal traffic is now quite a pain (especially for folks used to the earlier road). Actually Mysore-Nanjangud is better now with patch work done.

Not much issues at the border also since they relaid and widened the stretch to the max possible.

Thanks guys , but i have never been to wayanad before so the route via mysore will be better or via Kanakpura. I have to goto Vythri(kalpetta)

Since it is first time to wayanad, would recommend sticking to Mysore route. If starting on the long weekend morning, Leave early, preferably by 5am. From Mysore, if you want good roads all through, take the hand post- bavalli- kattikulam- mananthavady by-pass- kalpetta by-pass- vythiri. The more common route is via nanjangud- gundlepet- bathery- kalpetta by pass- vythiri. But you will need to handle the road widening and the rough stretches that come with that.
