Hello guys. this is awesome, I will be driving on same day 8th to Calicut for a wedding on 9th and will return to Bangalore on 9th itself. I would like to join you guys for the drive till Wayanad but from there on I will continue till Calicut.
I am sure I will be missing something; but a commitment to friend is calling me to Calicut.

So, don't count me in, however I will meet you all in the morning 6 am and for the drive till wayanad.

A small suggestion - on the return day, the handpost to Sericulture board stretch may not be possible in 4.5 hours. I think the detour to Mysore and back to NH-209 will take much longer (courtesy patchy roads between Maddur and Malavalli, plus Sunday returning traffic on SH17). We should either route the entire return route via Mysore road if we want to stop at Lalith Mahal, or shift the tea stop out of Mysore and onto NH-209.

It is Lalitha Mahal - Bannur - Malavalli - NH209.

Our last dinner drive to Lalitha Mahal was through this sector and it wasn't bad at all.

Karthik is right - We will be passing through the bad stretch on the way back. I have marked in red where the bad stretch lies :

Honestly though, its just 3 KMs of roads where the road is disappeared but its still flat - as long as we keep our speeds down, there should be no harm. Plus since the rains have stopped, there is very little chance that the road would have deteriorated further.

I'll travel on the route again next week and give you guys an update.

I guess you are referring to the bad stretch which is being widened between Bannur-Malavalli. If yes, it's absolutely fine. I traveled there last Sunday and it wasn't an issue to cross this stretch.
