Hi Guys,

After having a successful Monsoon meet its time again for a meet.

On popular demand, this time the meet has been planned as an overnight GRAND MEET.

Below mentioned were some points discussed by a few Bhpians who met last week & with some over the phone.

• Meet to be an overnight meet (2 days, 1 night)

• Family members of the members are most welcome.

• T-shirt distribution.

• Shortlisted list of Venue added as a Poll.

• Choice of Date between 13/14th & 20/21st of December.

T-shirts :


So after Live to Drive T-shirts last time, this time we are planning to have GOT BHP ? t-shirts. We would request other BHPians to please chip in with suggestions regarding the T-shirts designs. The cost of T-shirt would be approximately Rs. 250.00 to Rs. 300.00. Although I have sizes for a lot of BHPians, please include your T-shirt size again when confirming.

List of discussed venue has been added as a poll. Please vote for your favorite destination.


Accommodation :


Since it is an overnight meet, we will have to make prior reservations with the Hotel. The group would be big & a lot of back end operations would go into making it a success. Would request some BHPians to pitch in with whatever help they can to ease out the pressure.


We are looking into Hotels in the range of Rs. 2000 to Rs. 3000.

Let me get composed & give a thought before I take the venue poll, and confirm my participation/dates.

Also 2D/1N w/ family is a great idea - WAGs (!) would get to see that their SO is not the only car crazy guy in town !

Regarding the T shirt - can it be Red or White this time?

Have posted on the polls for the venue. Actually, where there are like minded people any place would do and it really does not matter. Have done both Mukutmanipur & Mandarmani recently. So, any other place would be more welcomed !!Let's keep an eye on the Polls....

T-Shirt Size given above speculating it to be for Sizes 40-42. It would be nice if you could manage the "Live to Drive" one (1Pc) which was distributed last time during the monsoon meet for me !! Getting a little greedy !!

Suggest - As far as my knowledge goes, for the given price bracket we'll find better accommodation in Mukutmanipur, Shantiniketan & Mandarmani in comparison to Bishnupur, Garpanchkot & Maithon.

If at all we are looking at WBFDC accommodations, we'll need to rush up as they fill really fast with advance reservations for the winter season.

Brilliant initiative again, Pawan.

My personal suggestion would be a drive+breakfast/lunch meet on 21st of Dec.
I am not back in the country till the 14th of December morning.

Red & White difficult as TBHP logo has these colors & the printing would be visible. Black is the only option left. Any suggestion to overcome the above problem is more than welcomed.

Hi AJ, Looking forward to meet you at the meet. So sorry that I don't have the LTD T-shirts left. Will see if the Vendor decides to make one for me. XL would be 42+. Will keep you posted about the help part.

Regarding the Bookings, won't one month in advance be sufficient ?

Thanks Rohin. That would be included in the plan. Since you are coming back on 14th, let's keep it on 20/21. I personally prefer these dates.

I did Mukutmanipur earlier this year in February, so got in touch with the WBFDC guys. Could not find a place there so had to stay in the Peerless Mukutmanipur.

Also, was planning to stay in the WBFDC bunglows in North Bengal in June'14 (planning in April'14) but could not get hold of a place.

I guess it's best to check with these guys immediately on ASAP basis.

"samba" had done a trip (i was reading his previous travelogues) and he had stayed in the WBFDC bunglows in North Bengal. He might have a contact. Plz Check !

Actually i do not have any special contact over there. I walked into the West Bengal tourism office at Dalhousie and asked them for a room at Holong. They asked me for the desired dates and i told them to give me the earliest possible dates. As i planned to go by car so there was no need to book tickets for train/flight. They gave the dates and accordingly i adjusted my other dates for the trip.

Overnight will be no no for me too. Will go its a breakfast meet with a proper drive.
