And as heserus says CCD is standard and clean. Of course puffs and rolls and coffee is tho only fare.

Plenty of CCD and much better roads on the vellore krishnagiri hosur run - ccd and a2b available near krishnagiri.

Also guys, sorry but my trip is off. My son's admission process suddenly turned up an interview to be scheduled "sometime over the weekend".

Here we just order what you want, pay accordingly, and not have a huge bunch of people waiting in line at the buffet table. Of course it will not be an elaborate meal but it offers flexibility to everyone.

If you don't guarantee, you don't get a private buffet where the 'Q' is just us.

The idea of a buffet was to streamline lunch eliminating multiple orders and delayed service normally associated thereto.

Bans, per their website, has all your boxes ticked. Yes, it has it's fair share of detractors on Trip Advisor.

"Dodgy" ? Have used Bans as a pit stop enroute to Tirupati and found it satisfactory. Haven't been there since the water park was added.

Hserus, 110 kms approx. from Chennai, after paying toll (plaza name ?) you have to take a right turn under flyover towards Walajah, Ranipet to Chittoor on NH 4. Options suggested not available on this route.

Tilt would vouch for the scenic drive on NH 4, his preferred route, 2-lane notwithstanding. To each his own.

If the options suggested above were available, it would certainly have been considered.

For want of better alternatives, Bans remains the best bet.

However if the pvt buffet per head tariff is not acceptable, there is always a-la-carte.

Destination Chittoor ! The drive had to go on. So it did, despite minor hiccups that preceded it.

Closure of the water park literally set the cat amongst the pigeons.

That flutter, however, turned out to be a non starter as unexpected
compulsions conspired to prevent Chennai Bhpians (some Bangalore causualities too) from the drive, who came close to making it happen.

But then, there's always many "a slip between the cup and the lip" and we took it in our stride.

Jan 04, Sunday dawns and all the Chittoor aficionados promptly zeroed in, on the dot, on the service road in front of ITI colony, Dooravaninagar.



Meet and greet pleasantries exchanged.


Then it was off for breakfast.


Kamat Upchar, the designated eatery was closed, so we drove further up to CCD to quell hunger pangs.

I was craving long for a riding holiday and this was just on time. Must say like every other overnighter drive Ravi organises, this was no-nonsense, pure fun drive!

First time I had such an amazing riding company with Mohit. Thanks buddy for encouraging me to take out the bike. While all the cars did triple digit safe runs on Bangalore - Mulbagal 4 lane highway, we enjoyed the sedated riding on our bikes! It was first time I did 200+ Km riding in a day after a gap of 12 long years! Looks like i can take more!

All the eyes were on road, so no special pics from me. And a big thank you to everyone we met and enjoyed together on this drive!

The only pic I got is on our return leg where Zebo set the pace of this return drive so well, everyone made their way effortlessly through the Sunday evening incoming traffic to City!
