Managing such a large contingent is not easy and even so when it consists of heterogeneous mix of rides, people, terrain and Ravi made it look so smooth.

Met some people for the fist time - Aswin, Anand and Arun, being a Telecom guy, I use AAA to refer to them and then Raaja, or GRAAJA, as we are known by our handles!

It was always fun to be around you guys and this trip is no exception. Lots of gyan on cars, previous trips and a host of other stuff.

And every time I cross a CCD, MOHAN will be the reason if anybody catches me grinning

Just a word of caution, when you do stop a convoy of cars on the road, please do make sure that there is either enough run off area for the cars to be parked OR the road is relatively unused.

Stopping on narrow roads where there isn't enough space already for two vehicles to pass causes the traffic do back up and is an inconvenience to other road users.

I hope you understand this is not a criticism of your road manners, but an observation as a third party using the same road as yourself.

You can be assured that this is a very disciplined bunch of drivers who are more religious than the pope, when it comes to road manners. Some pictures look like the road is blocked but the fact is that the roads are so narrow. However, when roads were wide or there was a shoulder, yo uwill find from the pictures that all vehicles pulled off the road and parked in a neat line, like an army of soldiers FALLING IN LINE.

Fellowship had a melodious interruption.

Ears perked up when strains of retro music wafted in from the hallway door.

Stepping out, came across this gent tapping out tunes in solitude.

Post the respective down town trips, all were back for lunch.

De-parting is such a sweet sorrow, that lunch became a long languorous break

Rides being readied in the driveway for the drive off


Encountered heavy weekend traffic enroute


An unscheduled tea break






Refreshed, ready to hit the road again


Consequently, the scheduled tea break @ Nijaguna Residency, stood converted to a dinner break, another extended halt.

Thence, a silky smooth drive took us back to our respective homesteads an hour past the Cinderella hour, post a coffee night cap at CCD, concluding yet another enjoyable overnighter.

For our better understanding, may we know which of the convoy pictures posted transgresses your benchmarks ?

I wasn't referencing the pictures, I was actually stuck in the traffic behind the convoy twice on Saturday evening on the outskirts of Ooty.

That explains it. Was it a "convoy" you were stuck behind or behind vehicles that had backed up ?

This is pure orgasmic man. Lovely pics, fantastic attendance, lifted spirits, good to see the smiling faces. RS is the perfect planner ably supported by all the BHPians and their families. The weather prompted that many tea breaks, understandably.
