The roadking could shift into not only 2-3-4 gears without the clutch but it could even shift into 1st gear and start moving without clutch. This is what i heard from my trusted yezdi mech. He says there is a cam in the gear shift mechanism and the cam disengages the clutch while shifting. He said to move from stand still raise the lever into firstgear very gently and it will start moving. He says in yezdi the clutch is 75% cam and 25% cable. But obviously this depends on the condition of cam system and the wear and tear.
