aaah well this would be one of the very few meets/drives i have managed to miss. as stated earlier my presence was required at home just as a mere formality due to the fact that i had a lot of family over for christmas lunch! next one for sure!

@JK- of course we're meeting at Meridien on the 27th. who all are coming btw? please do decide a specific time to catch up as well.

A very quick and fun packed spin!

wah!! I thoroughly enjoyed the D R I V E!! Roads were well paved and most of the streches were open to floor the pedals! In certain areas the Peted Ripper was seen flying at g8 speeds! Initially, Vivekji's Baleno was showing some kinda "owner sickness" and was reluctant to keepup with Ripper's swift! Finally it somewhat came to "our" terms during the drive back! Vivekji was seen learning to perfect his drifting skills thru the hairpin curves!!

Well... on the way our unofficial photographer Mr.Patrik's 'head gasket' blew off and ripper pulled off the car to wipe it clean! Vivekji gave me the keys from this point and I started exploring the limits of this car. I felt like kicking the men in Goodyear for creating such idiotic tyres... the car was juz going off and off the road everytime pushed at the corners... it almost fell into the ditch at the first curve.. he he... and from there onwards I got the hang of the car and started enjoying all the curves... No wonder Baleno's are one of the favourite picks for modding a car. The car handles well and I seriously wished it had better tyres.... really missed my sweet and simple swift at that moment!

Thanks Ripper for the initiative... a new spot explored... great route to drive too! so Whatz next??!

And... what the plan for 2mrw??!!
cheers!

It was a great drive yesterday! Ripper's swift was literally flying over the bends! After there was a blown head in the car, we pulled over, that's when nikki decided to 'pilot' the baleno! And within around minute,we heard a deep grown an a loooot of tire squeal! Looked back and saw a baleno drifting into a bend, tires smoking everywhere, a mad man in shades driving it, and a very scared looking person in the passenger seat! we pulled over the side and let them pass!!

Needless to say, we lost sight of them soon, and they had no intention of stopping at kulamavu, and proceeded to kattapana, and had to be called back!!

Ripper has managed to get his hands on a set of Tarrox brakes, and i've almost pushed him onto a stage 2 upgrade for the swift! Buhaha!!

Nope! Its better! He found out thet the pedal yoke(or whatever its called) is made out of high strength nylon, and was wondering how we could cut through it!!

Another quick Rip to Kulamavu and back

We did set some landspeed records on today's early morning drive.
Nikki says I did 140, I'm sticking to my claim of 120. Who has time to look at the speedo when there is a sweeping corner rushing at you?!!

And were back home by 11.00 this morning. 200kms of pure bliss. All that commuter frustration and city rage has been worked out. Ready for another week's daily grind.

Plan was to start at 6AM sharp, as usual, I beat the alarm clock, waking up 1/2 hr before it went off at 5.30AM, got ready, and decided to wait as I have had experiences of waiting in deserted locales for the rest of the gang to turn up. At 5.55AM I get a call from aditya86,requesting updates on my location.
This time it was my turn to be sheepish.

Truly sorry guys.

ASHVIN, nikki and adi,
Thank you for finally taking pains and setting off so early after weeks of my pestering, I know you guys hate early starts, but dont you think it was worth it? Deserted roads that are speed camera free, we should do this more often.

We will have to start looking at new destinations and routes, but I feel its hard to beat this one.

PS- The Tarox G88 Brake Rotors were tested well today on the 12 hairpins and the numerous other sharp corners. Best 12k I have ever spent
Still debating if I need brake pad upgrades. I'm not sure if there was any brake fade, might have been there, but was so slight, that maybe I was imagining it.
Kinda hesitant to upgrade braking any further with the current set of tyres.
