Sorry if I missed a post or two here. When is the trip being planned ?

I am not making any promises this time over but I am closely watching this space so that I can plan in advance and there be no surprises this time that prevents me from being with bhp ians.

You didn't miss a couple of posts figo_mba, you missed out three full pages and also the previous meet.

We were thinking of the drive post May 20. Nothing firmative have come up as yet. Everyone seems to be a bit tied up before may 20.

I was thinking, if we are going to Valparai, how about we take the longer but much more scenic Plantation route?

The roads however, are not in the best shape.

I am all in for a one day drive if its on a Sat. A stay over will require some planning.

I had been to Valparai a few month back. So, I wont be too inclined for another road trip there. The roads thru Athirappilly is okay. The last 45 minutes through the jungle is a 1st or 2nd gear crawl as the road is broken up very bad. But it is very short. The Pollachi road is longer and more fun and with very good roads till you hit NH 47.

Glued to this thread to see what is the final date announced.

Looks positive for me if its beyomd 20th May. However my family will keep away from long drives atleast for sometime as my younger one is just 3 months old.

But believe me, including the fairer gender would shorten our Automobile & gadget talks diluting into other pinky things but the frequency of our meetings would improve as the home minister approval is anyways deemed

Then I guess its time to make a decision. How many are ready for a trip with an overnight stay? We can decide the location based on that.

Guys, can we add some more people from Cochin and nearby places? I'm sure there are lots of Cochin guys in the forum in hibernate mode. Once we shortlist a few places, these people can be ping-ed through PM. Is there any problem with that?

Lets agree on a date first. Fixing a place is easy. After all, we are in God's Own Country!

I am free on May 18th. And I would love a road trip through Vagamon. Waiting for other suggestions.

Yes, it's time to fix the date. I guess all are free during May except for:

1) Dhanush (Busy after 20th weekend. So guess you are busy during the last week of May)
2) Jacs - Free after 20th May
3) Naveen - Free after 20th May

So looks like June 1st/2nd would be the best date to fix if everyone is fine with that. I'm fine with overnight stay but will have to bring my better half if it's a stay (Will decide once I get to hear if there are others to join her - Dhanush, Deepak, Prashob can confirm). But will overnight stay work? We need to book the rooms early right? Most of the entries will be confirmed at the last moment. So guess it's best to go for a one day drive. Any thoughts?

As for the place, Vagamon looks like the preferred place.

Anyways, I'm just putting in my preference.
