I got an email saying 12th was the date you had to make the balance payment to TCI.

Also a friend of mine who owns a travel agency said - On Arrival Visa for people from Mumbai is given only if they have a valid visa for SIngapore and they arrive from Singapore. Any one about this ?

We need to make the bal 4K payment by 14th feb.

I personally, am NOT taking a chance with Visa On arrival and 100% will be getting a Malaysian Visa from India, before I leave.
I will get details soon and post them here and help anyone else who needs the visa.

NC,
You are rite.. The Visa on arrival for Indians has been stopped as of now. You need a valid Singapore visa and you should be coming in from Singapore to get one on arrival.. If you flying direct you will not get it. Its better you guys get your visa's before flying out..
Cheers

I am not taking any chances with VISA!! (Those who have seen me will understand why I fear so.)
I am in touch with TCI to do my visas too. I think that's safe.

I don't have plans to go to Singapore this time.

zak, the country in question being Malaysia, I do not foresee much trouble. However, while the looks do matter, even names can be a problem as my colleague learnt during his 3rd visit to the US (the 1st 2 visits were troublefree) just after Saddam was executed. He had to spend a harrowing 4 hours at Atlanta airport being questioned, all because of his name. It sucks.

If everyone has not done so already, please make sure that you deposit the balance amount, using the same method you did earlier.

TCI has advised me that they can arrange a Malay visa for Rs.1260/- per person.

Passengers from Mumbai,

Mumbai - Kuala Lumpur - Mumbai on Air India the cost is INR 21355 approx per person including the airport taxes.

Mumbai - Kuala Lumpur - Mumbai on Malaysian Anirlies the cost is INR 22055 approx per person including the airport taxes

I am placing my booking on Malaysian Air with Elsy tomorrow. (I do not think we need to pay immediately)
