Mangalore - Udupi Meet on Jan 13th, 2019

Had a wonderful time meeting up with fellow TBHPians! Talking cars with off-road veterans, remap wizards, detailing gurus and other enthusiasts was great fun.
Special thanks to Samurai and Samaspire for taking the initiative in organizing this.

It was a great gettogether indeed. We could renew the bonds with old friends and made a lot of new friends. The Manipal-Udupi-Mangalore TBhp gang has a little lesser grey hairs now with a few younger guys joining in. There was an eclectic collection of cars at the meet. For me, it began with a ride in Sashas Thar from Udupi to Surathkal. The on road behaviour of Thar was revelation to me. And then we had the Abarth punto, vRS, Naren's famous S Cross, a wolfed Figo, Duster AWD, a modded Baleno, a spotless Cedia,Polo TDI, Grand Vitara, and the humble Kwid. Add to this, a like minded crowd, coastal locales and good food. Need I say more?. Wonderful times. And it all ended with a ride back to Udupi in the vRS!!

P.S : Photos with me are similar to the ones already posted. So I am not adding any.

Its great to see so many Mangalore/Udupi bhpians and their cars together. Glad that you people had fun. Unfortunately, due to prior family commitments, I could not join. Next time, for sure.

A bit late here- thanks to a few personal engagements and some travel in between.

It was an awesome meet! The last 2 meets I attended saw a maximum of 8-10 members attending. This time we had many new faces joining in too with their respective rides. The one that won my heart was cogwheel's Abarth Punto!

The drive to the beach turned out scary for me in my vRS- the low ground clearance meant I had to be extra careful while negotiating certain sections. But finally it all turned out to be a wonderful experience.

Amazing pics , brought back memories of MBBS days. A couple of members look familiar from my Manipal days. I believe James had a blue RD back then, and I believe another member looks familiar from the xBhp days . Great to see you after ages guys .

Four hot cars, but everyone finds the 12 year old Baleno more interesting

I think all of us missed clicking any pictures at the last stop - Dinner at the Red Rock Resort. Couple of guys left early and we started with soups. Most of the talk was, as expected, on cars. Amongst the "health conscious guys", it was on diets. Finally we all ended up eating just proteins - a wide variety of proteins. No main course.

Having done my Mechanical Engineering from MIT Manipal, every article, photograph, write up about about that area makes me feel really nostalgic. This may happen to many a sundry but what really gets a smile on my face is KA20

While at college (1988 - 1992), I owned a 2nd hand Kawasaki Bajaj Delta KB 100 RTZ having registration number

KA 20 E 1341 (purchased in 1992)

After passing out of college, I moved to Satna (MP) where my father used to work, followed by Gandhidham, Baroda, Ahmedabad, Gurgaon - (the bike being transported by train). At all these places, I have been stopped by the police, only to be asked - KA 20 - which place is this!

Sorry for being OT, but just could not resist posting - blame it on KA 20
