The last couple of posts indicate Karjat.
RT, Gerard and Kartik have recently ridden to Lonavla. I don't mind either.

What route to Karjat are you guys planning to take? The route from Chowk (old highway) to karjat is only about 10 kms and consists of a decent set of twisties, but would probably be not great fun on the larger bikes.

The other route is via khopoli to karjat - it's like going the long way around a triangle, but the road is again full of twisties and however the tarmac is smooth, save for a couple of places. Plenty, and I mean Plenty of blind turns. It's good fun on a karizma.

What route are you guys planning to take?

The other route is to come to Shil Fata (either via Thane or Airoli or Vashi) and then on the route to Dombivli/Kalyan, taking a diversion to badlapur, and then go on straight to Karjat. The roads arent great, some smooth patches, but too little. This goes via the matheran route. The only advantage is the relatively less traffic.

Another great route is the eastern express highway route to Kalyan/Bhiwandi, to Wada and then you come out on the western express highway near Manor (about 10 kms before) but the route is pretty decent and again decent tarmac, without too much traffic.

And if it's the 24th, I'm out, as I have to work that day.

So there's going to be a Ninja, a Fireblade(?), a Thunderace?

This is an interesting bike ride!

IS this the route near "uncles Kitchen"? - Has the road been done?
