I guess we called up Ajmat also at 1am. It surely was one hell of a confusion.

and how! you wont get to see the monaco race unless
a) you know someone who has an apt there * it is street race and the vantage points are few *
b) you can get into the pits *not a great place to see a race *
c) you are in a blimp (or part of some news crew) * best option *

veyy few good hotels in JB. I'd say see if you can get a hotel in Jurong which is across the border in Sing anyway and you need only one visa (it'll make Sam's secretary's life easier - for those who remember what happened last time). remember the race is at the new marina and corsses into the center of town. the stands are kinda limited too, i guess th organisers will slowly extend the stands in subsequent years.

for those who are interested this is the track.

You see, my passport does not have an Emigration Check Not required stamp. One requires it to travel to certain countries. In these cases a temporary suspension of this requirement can be stamped on the back on one's passport.
I have been putting it (the ECNR) off for a few years since it requires a personal visit to the passport office.
Effective from 01st October 2007, ECNR is no longer required to visit ANY country in the world. The rule has been revoked. Woo-hoo!!

hey sam!!! that is wonderful news.

i had to get the ECNR done for a quick trip that is coming up, and my office travel desk confirmed that any one with just a matriculation certificate is eligible for this waiver as opposed to the grad certificate that was needed before

anyway it is only 18 of the middle-east countries that are still under the ECR list.

thanks again. you saved me a trip to worli, with no time to spare. another advantage of being online on TBPH.

It was very nostalgic for me too gautam. Those five days was like a dream.
Every time the camera showed our stand, it reminded me of how we were all having fun.

Remember the qualifying session - we were all waiting for hours in the sun and literally roasted and drained, but the moment the engine roar was heard, all the inconveniences just vanished.

Can never forget the roar of the 22 engines in the back straight during the formation lap - when they were are all trying to warm up their tyres.

intense heat and noise.

walk back to the main road after the race and all of us lying down on the grass lawn.

party on that night..... was just too good.

lying down before the petronas tower.... it can go on and on.

regards
tifosi.

Ditto; the family sat down & reminisced throughout the race yesterday - we were highly nostalgic everytime we saw the Grandstand that we'd sat in last year. Man what an experience it was........
