Everything seems nice , and the drags between the red swifts , the red swift and the black esteem were how drags should be .. Neck to neck .. However I would be worried of only one thing .. Braking area , doesn't look much and being dusty could be dangerous as the cars might not stop on time .. This is something you guys ought to look at during future events ..

hi mclaren,

te braking area was enough. the cars only took half the braking area without braking braking heavily or locking the brakes. nothing bad happened there. it was fantastic. i wish you all were there wit your machnes to drag it out. the drag strip was amazing. flat surface wide track. the stress levels usually assosiated with narrow drag strip was not there. as you can see in the video there was enough room for torque steer. IMO torque steer is pronounced when the car accelerates at launch.

ala in all it was an amazing experience. though i didnt drag, i did the quarter mile run to check the 0-60 miles and quarter mile timings of my car(accent crdi)

cheers

dont worry McLaren. There was enough braking area. The cars hardly used half of the area that we left. Actually, its maybe due to the cloud of dust that gets thrown at the finish line that the braking area is not visible. but beyond that point, enough room is there.

Example. Check out the bullet 500 v/s Indica drag.
Even a motorcycle (slower braking than car) and that too a Bullet...!!! brakes well well before the end of the road. I guess that will settle it.

Like I said before McLaren, everything, save for race equipement was taken care of.

Clipto, SS I know you guys must have looked into all the necessities. My observations were based on the dust at the end line and a video where the cars came to a screeching halt. I must once again congratulate you all for this wonderful event and for coming up with this idea. I am hoping that someone picks a cue from this and does something similar in karnataka too. We cant afford to go to bombay or punjab to drag you know . Though we would love to.

my octavia is stock, just an additional k&n stock replacement filter..
nikhil's civic had a k&n stock replacement filter, an intake charger, and 1 or 2 other performance goodies, i dont remember, but the reason was a slow start coz of the auto transmission.

Loved the videos. Man, could the OHC really run that far away from the mpfi esteem ? was a little surprised with that. And the civic falling way behind the skoda was also a shame. needs better drivers, i guess. BTW, was nikhil drivng his civic ? could you guys point out which is nikhil(chip) in those other videos ? would be nice to put a face to his name.
