Anyone Want to Drive to Rishikesh for Rafting Meet

Hi,

Thought maybe we could move this motion to organise a T-BHP meet at Rishikesh.

I enquired from a friend who is a Rafting Instructor and was told that a Rafting Package will come for 1200 with Camping and around 600 without overnight camping..!

Maybe someone can come with a better deal or Offer.

National Meet might be to far for most of us based in North, So this would not be a Bad bet..What Say ?

Would love to but can't. Let me explain: We are two brothers and my younger brother is now in the US doing his graduation, so effectively now I'm the sole male member of my family.

Hence, there are two things that my mother has explicitly refused to accept, 1. Motorsports & 2. Extreme Sports.

A few years back I had arranged everything and was all set to go on a rafting holiday to Kodiyala (Amazing place above Rishikesh) but my mother put her foot down & that was the end of that.

Sorry about this guys, but if you need any help I could arrange something.

Dunno about India, but rafting is pretty safe here. There are different levels, level 3 is easily doable and fun. Level 5 is serious and they let you do it only if you have some experience. Helmets and lifejackets are required.

I've been to West Virginia rafting at least 3-4 times.

Same here but there have been instances. For eg. 4 years or so back one of the sons of the Thapar Group (They have a bungalow with a helipad nearby to Kodiyala) drowned and his body could only be recovered with the help on Navy divers. Now the problem is that my uncle (who's located in Dehradoon) is a very senior govt. official under who's purview the tourism dept. also comes will know of my arrival (I don't hide anything from him) and will inform my mother accordingly. And in any case he himself will not allow to raft since there is some level of danger involved, so I don't stand a chance of turning up for this one.

Ishaan Sir, Lets have a drive meet this time, Not neccessarily Rishikesh..kahi bhi, it would be good to have a Drive meet this time instead of the Beer Guzzling Drive..!

A non drinking drive meet would be great if the weather was better. That said most of us have air conditioned cars.
Once place to head to can be the hill fort kesaroli.
2.5 hours max from Gurgaon. Go there morning , eat food chill out, visit the sarsika reserve which is just 1 hour away, come back at night.

Nopes, My batchmate only, Lets try to come up with a good place to go and then see..! Because like the Sepang trip- Discounts flow with group size..!

I would second Kesaroli as an option if most are not game for Rishikesh..!

Lets get working..!
