Besides you haven't got a chance to stretch the legs of the baleno since its comeback. This long drive could help.

As Harrie said, this is just a stone throw away from from Coimbatore.
From Cochin, It is around 250+/- kms. From Bangalore, it should be around 350+/- kms.
The schedule is being designed according to everybody's convenience.
But feel free to design your own schedule for going back. I know, some wants to be back home by sunday evening. So, they can go forward and decide when they want to leave. Baaki, some useless guys like me will be glad to even spend a whole week enjoying the forest, rivers, hills and rains.

Now, for some more good news! We will be having a live Barbeque at the venue on Saturday night. Yes, that is if it doesn't rain much.
Somebody can provide a good portable music system. And we can make the Barbeque fire last till the morning while we can dance around it and have some good fun. Ehhhmmm.... Can we get some strippers from somewhere around?
Nay, having a long chat itself would be great.

With all the ICE that you guys have in your cars, do you still need a portable music system???

JK I'm leaving from Bangalore tomorrow (Thursday) - time yet to be decided. Do you want to hitch a lift?

@jk the river is calm as of now. we can cross the river even if there is a little more of water. besides we have a truck and a 4wd jeep to help us through

steer, i'll introduce you to a very mad jeep driver who has tried going up stream. you'll have plenty of use for your truck at the farm.

And while you are at it do make sure you take the W123. He ought to fit the bill well too.

I have been to Silent Valley a couple of times. I am doubltful if its just 40 kms from CBE, maybe in straightline, but may not be the case while driving. Its about 40 km drive from a small town called Mannarkad, which is about 35 kms from Palakkad town enroute to Kozhikode. So if you come from CBE, you will need to add about 75 kms to the CBE-PGT route. I am not sure if there are any other motorable short-cut roads directly from CBE.

See a link to a travelogue written by one of my journalist friends.

The Written Word: Travel Feature: Silent Valley, Kerala

PS. Ok. Maybe the road thru Mukkali, Agali, Anaikatti is the one to CBE. No idea about that route.
