Re: Team-BHP Meets @ Seattle, Washington

Are the mountain passes clear to travel to Leavenworth? Will we need snow chains?

About the meet up location I think anywhere in bellevue/redmond should be fine. I'm 20mins away from bellevue/redmond.

I am not quite familiar with vista points enroute to levenworth, Should google unless others have any ideas, its been more than 4 yrs I have been to levenworth where my wife broke her hand when she slipped of the snowy surfaces during christmas.Open to any place for lunch.
Sorry guys for changing the plan in last minute. We are doing this drive on Feb 6th instead of Feb 5th. Please NOTE

As per today's report, there is no restrictions in the area.

https://wsdot.com/travel/real-time/m...ses/Snoqualmie

Well, since all of us have AWD, snow chains is not required.

On a side note, I have driven so much in Snow in East Coast but, here in WA state even small amount of snow and everyone talks about snow chain which I never used in my life.

Hope you are confirmed for Feb 6th (Sunday). Please confirm?

Ok. Here you go. I hope you are J now.

It took me almost 6 months to organize the first Team-BHP meet after relocating to Seattle. But, as they say better late than never. Hopefully, going forward we can enjoy a drive meet once in 3-months at least.

This meet had 4 BHPians and 2 Non-BHPians (Actually, Ram is an unofficial BHPian from over a decade as he participated on many drive meets I used to organize back in Hyderabad, so he is no stranger to drive meets)

We all met in parking lot of Home Depot in Bellevue and I was bit late for the 9:30 meeting time and when I pulled into the parking lot of HD, I was taken aback as at least 2-3 Mexican guys pounced at my car. They were the handy men and thought I was looking for one. It reminded me of the “Adda” concept back in India where you get labor for your handy works at home.

We spent sometime introducing ourselves and it was nice to know Croupier relocated to Seattle just a couple of months ago from Hyderabad and decided to join up so soon. Another amazing aspect was to see his car splattered with Team-BHP stickers. Was a great sight to see this in US, first for me till date. Same goes for Ashir’s BMW 5-Series which was adored by my favorite “LTD” sticker.

We headed out and drove towards our first stop which was “Snoqualmie Summit” which was about 50 miles away. We enjoy the broad I-90 East towards the mountains surrounded by beautiful scenery. We reached there around 11am and stopped for some photo shoot and a pizza slice from the most popular guy in Washington.

Next stop was at Cle Elum where we found a nice spot which was completely ice, sleet and did a small photoshoot with all cars lined up. This place was tricky as it was slippery like hell. We had to really watch our feet lest we break some bones. LOL!

Finally, reached Leavenworth which is a beautiful German town (Last I have visited this place was in 2015) and it got some old memories back. It’s one of the most beautiful place with all buildings having German architecture and this town is surrounded by mountains which makes this place unique and gives a European/Alpine feel.

We had a tough time selecting a place for lunch as everywhere it was just Bratwurst (German Sausage/Hot Dog) but, found a place with a vegetarian option. Had a decent lunch and then we headed back towards home around 3pm. It was decided to take a different route while going back via. Stevens Pass which is a beautiful scenic area and this decision was an expensive one. We got stuck in a major traffic jam (Due to all Skiers coming back from the mountains and it was a Sunday) and it took us 2 hours to cover 6 miles. Can you beat that?

Would be interesting to know if someone in US has covered less number of miles in a 2-hour span. Haha!

Except this situation, the overall meet was fantastic and it was wonderful to meet the local BHPians and already waiting for the next drive meet.

Ok, so I went first. Now it’s your turn to come up with your pictures and a brief report. Cheers and Many more in future !!

@mobike008 Great pictures. I'm also in the Seattle area and would love to join next local meet-up with my M340i. Also have another friend with his G80 M3 comp who would be happy to join.

Wow! It will be interesting to have BHPians meet in various countries.

Since this forum has members worldwide, I am wondering how many BHPians are there in Qatar.
