Sounds good to me. Who is local to Detroit - perhaps I could have one contact number to inform once I reach there or in the event of any delays.

As it is a Saturday morning, I suspect there might be a bit of a queue at the border crossing.

Anyone from Detroit here whose contact number we can have for co-ordination purposes?

Maybe we can do a Whatsapp/Text group for any last minute co-ordination issues.

It was an amazing experience, including the 5 hr drive each way for me.

Absolutely worth it getting to spend time with like-minded enthusiasts.

Ford's Garage was a great experience too - my colleagues & friends here were floored looking at the inside pics.

Hope to meet up again soon.

10 hours was a lot of driving and it would have been a perfect day had it had been a little warmer. Even otherwise, it was a great gathering and everyone had a great time.

We should plan for another meet after we are done with winter.

Nice! Been quite a while since there was an overseas meet-up!
I think my last T-BHP USA meet was when BHPians Technocrat, mobike008 & me got together for a quick afternoon meet-up during an ice storm somewhere in NJ a few years ago.

Yeah, Ford Garage interiors are pretty cool for a restaurant. I guess that's what drives hordes of folks as it's always busy

Why after winter? Why not a drive meet in peak of winters? That would be a first on Team-BHP

As per Vibin and Kashif's recommendation we decided to do the scenic HINES Drive which is a beautiful ~20 mile stretch but, unfortunately just before the meet we got to know that about 50% of the route is closed for lightings for upcoming Thanksgiving & Christmas. Nonetheless, even of what stretch was open there were several places for us to stop and enjoy the fall colors

We all met at Farmers Market in Northville as this was right off the starting point for HINES DRIVE. Special Kudos to Kashif (Driving down from Toronto), Akshay (Driving down from NJ) and Manindra (Who came from Pittsburg) and all of them have some history with Detroit (either they lived here or have family/friends here)

Jomz who owns an STi and is a brand ambassador for Subaru got us some beautiful mugs branded in Subaru livery. Thanks buddy. Waiting for winters to put that in motion to enjoy my morning hot cuppa

After the initial meet and greet and pictures with cars, we took off and spotted at 4-5 places in the 10 mile drive to enjoy the fall colors. I will share the pictures in 3 installments (Drive/Fall Colors/Lunch at Ford Garage)

Btw, pictures will not do the justice what the naked eye saw with respect to the fall colors. It was simply breathtaking

Here we go with the 1st Installment of Drive Pics in no particular order.

Will meet during the long winter and summer breaks next year.
By that time, I would have adapted to the driving in the US.

re: Team BHP USA meets in Detroit

As part of the drive, we stopped at Henry Ford's house for a quick pic.
As most of you know, Dearborn, MI is headquarters of Ford and Henry Ford used to live there. He was kind of like the Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk of his time - rich and eccentric.

We parked in his driveway. Parking there was not allowed. We figured that it might be just easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. I was half scared that old Henry might get pissed at a bunch of import cars parked in his driveway and come out charging to "get off his lawn".

Fortunately that did not happen, but a security did chase us off. But it made a nice picture.

Nice home Henry!!
