Either of these dates work for me as well.

Akshay, Shekar and Kashif to confirm if they can make it on Sunday (27th) instead of 26th

Finally, we will choose a date where we will have maximum participation

This looks fine to me. I'll be driving over from Philadelphia on Friday evening and driving back on Sunday afternoon. So Saturday afternoon/evening works best for me. If not, then it is very difficult for me to make it this time.

@nikhilarni: Not sure if you're still interested in the meet? If you're in Pittsburgh we can drive together or I can give you a ride too.

Guys- Last weekend I tried to do a recce of this route starting from Northville park and followed the places mentioned in this blog but, got lost and was getting late as I had to meet someone in Dearborn so skipped it in between

https://www.awesomemitten.com/fall-c...metro-detroit/

I think it is important to have the route map plotted so we all can use it. Can someone help with this plotting from starting point to places we stop until the final destination-Ford Garage and post it here?

Cheers !!

Did anybody check for road closures?

http://cityofdearborn.org/news-and-e...ginning-sept-3

It seems that we might need a new route

Thanks Jomz for sharing this. Looks like a spanner (pun intended ) thrown into the works here - loads of road closures.

Any ideas from the rest of the participants?

What do you guys want to do? We could check out the Piquette plant and check out crumbling fisher body 21 next to it

https://www.abandonedspaces.com/indu...e-remains.html

Packard is also closeby
https://www.abandonedamerica.us/pack...or-car-company

Or could go to to the theater and park there

https://www.freep.com/story/news/loc...ge/1747773001/

Get inside the Ren center and look at the GM gallery
https://gmrencen.com/

Can see F150's rolling off the assembly line

Thank you for the update Jomz, looks like the road closure is just for a short distance towards the end. We should be able to take a detour for that small stretch. But i am open to other suggestions as well.

I can view the route directions. Let us stick to this route plan

Jomz, thanks for sharing this link. But, it says work will be closed by Mid-October.

Worst case scenario we can drive till whatever route is accessible and then drive straight to the lunch point-Ford Garage

Jomz- Idea is to meet for fall colors drive. All the items you listed will take lot of time and cannot be done as a group (Unless we take the help of Sita Tours and Travels)

Let us stick to fall colors drive with a few stops to take group pictures of cars, us and fall colors and then if road is closed we can drive to lunch spot

Let us keep an alternate route ready which is part of Hines drive that covers partial route of this drive and we can take this one (if roads are closed for entire drive route on Hines) and then drive to Ford Garage

How does it sound?

I'm fine with whatever, I might be able to make it only for lunch anyway!

Just throwing ideas out there.
