No chance of doing that here Suman! Roads closed from 9th to 11th. And in any case with the large number of Kanwariya's with their mob mentality I would like to avoid the risk of travelling on those dates.

The stretch that is closed is Garhmutekshwar onwards Nitin. Before that is fine. Plus, the only other route from Moradabad to Delhi while not going through Brijghat (The trouble spot) is Bijnore-Mawana-Meerut-Hapur-Delhi which as you can imagine is an extra distance of around 200kms. so we need to travel 350kms! And even then it's not safe since in Meerut & adjoining areas the Kanwariya's are present in large numbers!

P.S. As proof of what they do every year, see the news, I think they created some ruckus on NH-8 yesterday.

I was planning for a long drive from 11th to 15th (if you take Monday and Tuesday off, you get 5 days). But due to this Kanwaria mess I don't think either Kumaon or Garhwal will be accessible on 11th :-(

So that leaves HP; Dharmshala here I come :-)
