Your benchmark should be the likes of Karl King, Sterling Moss or even the recent Juha Kankunnen or the Late Mr Burns.

@Planet: Pl do not include me in the league of those who drive fast. My humble 1.2 is no match to them, but, yes, it does move faster than an auto .

Yes, it is necessary to book your meal in advance at Banalakshmi. The contact number is : 03463271202. They serve non-veg food too. Their "kosha mangsho" is excellent and also their "patishapta".

There's an unmetalled road that goes off the State Highway, as you take a right turn towards Banalakshmi. If you continue along this road, it ends in a river (forgot the name, may be Khowai), taking you past a handful of hamlets mostly inhabited by Santhals. The surroundings are good with the typical red soil of that area, rocky outcrops and Sal forests. Not that bad a spot for photo shoot sessions. However, by the time you reach the spot, your car would be red in colour .

If you are planning to spend a night there, it is highly advisable to visit these hamlets on foot, early next morning. Excellent photography opportunities. As the day becomes old, the hamlets appear deserted as most of the people go out to work in the fields.

@ Xeta - check out this section - search through the section for reviews on Palio 1.6 (Stile) http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/team-bhp-reviews/

@ ETC loves hogging Kosha Mangsho - i am sure that she will enjoy the food more than the drive. My brother may tag along with us with a couple of his friends.

@ guys - hope all of you have grabbed a copy of Overdrive September '07 Issue - a must read - especially the Track Attack section - the kitted SX4 looks quite good.

@ guys - you can bring along with you - family, friends, etc. looking forward to the meet.

has the date been decided yet?

@Planet- can you please put up a poll with the dates and see which date gets the highest response ? And one should be able to choose more than one date.

@ BP - wimwian will be stuck till 16th IIRC. if we decide to leave him back , then the probable dates would be 16th / 23rd / 30th September.

PS:
1. oye Wimwian - just joking yaar - how can we leave you behind!
2. where is the option/tab to start a poll in this thread?
3. where is the guy with back/leg problems & owns the Phoenix?

Doesn't leave out too many people

1100D is in a different league, so he should be left out of the list. He should be a benchmark where the benchmark is the ideal value. All others should be rated in a way that the fastest person is closest to that benchmark. No offence meant to other fast drivers

23rd might work for me. Still 50-50 for me @planet

Another thought I had and would discuss it further if I get more company.

Anyone willing to go to S'ketan Saturday 22nd afternoon ? Stay the night thereabouts; meet up on Sunday morning with the rest of the group; have lunch at Banalakshmi and return to Kolkata together.
