The idea of a New York city area meetup came up in a comment on my recently posted initial review of the C8 Corvette, where BHPian foxbat commented that he and BHPian samik_jonak are from the area and we should plan a meetup.

A glance through this forum would also tell you that the last NYC Team BHP meetup occurred in 2008 (We have had SEVEN more Fast and Furious movies since then!)

After some deliberation and the year-end vacation, we have decided to meet next weekend. The details are below:

Date: Saturday/11th January 2025
Time: 10:00 AM
Venue: The 9W Market, 243 Rte 9W, Palisades, NY 10964

The 9W Market is a frequented place for bicyclists and motorcyclists and sits along the NY-NJ border near the Palisades. The tentative plan after breakfast -

Drive to Perkins Memorial Tower
The Perkins Memorial Tower on Bear Mountain is a mountaintop observation tower that provides beautiful panoramic views over the Hudson Valley.

7 Lakes Drive
Though it's a favorite during fall foliage, the drive provides breathtaking views in any season. We expect some snowfall this week, so depending on how much of that is retained, we may be in for a treat.

Thanks sdaityari for starting the thread. Looks like there have been team-bhp meetups before in the NYC area before but 16+ years ago!

Though only three of us had confirmed when I posted about it, I asked the Team BHP Rust Belt group and BHPian jeevadeepan confirmed that he could make it on Sunday. Additionally, we had potential snow in the early hours of Saturday, so we moved it to Sunday.

We met for the first time and talked about times back in India, how driving is different in the US, unpredictable traffic in New York City (and how even enthusiasts avoid it), ever-increasing insurance rates, and so much more. Here are a few photos from the meetup.

Just bumped into this thread. Glad you guys got together for a East Coast NY/NJ meet-up. Looks like you guys had fun!

Most of the members from the early-mid 2000's have either moved out of the area now; or just become busy with life in general.
Maybe I'll join in on the next one.
