Everyone from Mumbai opting to be a passenger. I think we need a hired Volvo or something for this drive .

Hi,

What kind of speeds do you guys do? Can you put up with something that disintegrates above 75km/h?

Speeds vary widely

But, as long as you have a general idea of the directions and/or another chiller driver to cruise with you it shouldnt be an issue (the less expressway there is on the route the better!).

We've been on quite a few drives with much older cars or slower top speeds (jeeps etc) and usually theres one or two more cars who also keep to that leisurely pace.

My vehicle used to be a MM540DP. So it is not very quick.

Is Plan A frozen? I can take 2-3 passengers.

Yes Alfa Kilo you can come in the MM540DP LP640 or anything. No sweat at all. Here's the final plan:

08:00hrs : group up at chandni chowk and head towards Lavasa
09:30hrs : regroup at the end of Lavasa ghat for some snacks
11:00 hrs: Leave for George restaurant in camp.

Revised schedule to give the Bombay contingent a comfortable drive:

09:00hrs : group up at chandni chowk and head towards Lavasa
10:30hrs : regroup at the end of Lavasa ghat for some snacks
12:00 hrs: Leave for George restaurant camp.

How to get to Chandni Chowk?
  • From the end of expressway continue to drive on NH-4 (a four lanned highway that leads to Bangalore).
  • The first land mark on this road would be Indira college of Management studies on both sides of the road.
  • Next would be Wakad junction (a junction with a traffic light on the highway). Continue straight from here.
  • Next junction would again be at a traffic light and flyover going over the highway perpendicular. This is Hinjewadi flyover. Keep driving on the highway.
  • Next junction will be Balewadi junction (The sports complex of Asiad games fame to your right). Sadanand resort will be to your left at this junction. Continue straight.
  • After about 3-4 kms from this junction reduce your speeds from 180 kmph to atleast 70-80 kmph and you'll see Viva inn hotel on your left with an HP petrol pump on your right. Bang at this point you'll see a small overbridge going over the highway. This is Chandni chowk. To get onto the overbridge. Go under it and at about 300-400 meters will be a small left with rickshaws / tuk tuk ricks parked on the side. A narrow (no-entry) road takes you up that over bridge. This is Chandni chowk.

PM me your numbers if you are confirmed for the drive.

We shall be there "Swiftly". The passenger list will remain unchanged but the comfort levels will slightly differ.... only some time during the drive, i strongly feel, the driver might become passenger for the rest of the journey ...
Moral, please give timings as to when we shall be back as i just have to have to return back by 5 sih as i have a function at home at 6.00pm.
