Gautam, I think Singapore will be outpricing itself on its first attempt. I've been hounding Hotels & the Singapore GP helpline & trust me - to say its expensive would be an understatement.

Just some pointers on hotel accommodations -

Hotel on Orchard Road - Regular Room (incl B'fast) - Usually - INR 6k per night
Same Hotel - Regular Room ONLY - GP week - INR 33.6k per night .

Trust me, I'm not kidding. My Company has Corporate rates with all the big names & ALL have declined to give Corporate Rates for that period

F1 Ticket costs - they will start selling end Jan & early Feb so are not keen on giving too many details now. I was told that the prices will range between INR 6k (which will probably be standing accommodation) & INR 33k (Pits grandstand).

I'm slowly but steadily waving the Singapore F1 GP goodbye! Really wanted to be there since it is the first night race in history but at these prices - dunno yet!

I think one time in Malaysia was good enough, not more. It was too darn HOT! Plus, it is best to experience the other tracks too. Singapore looks almost certain, but my family is planning a European GP trip. Still undecided.

Sepang is too hot, Singapore is too expensive, Bahrain is too boring.

What say we do the Turkish Grand Prix this year, guys? Great place with lots of history, terrific coffee and fantastic women. Cant get better.

Absolutely Dippy! And they are making no bones about it either. And for Hotels, this is the Advance Purchase Rate which means your Credit Card gets charged NOW & its a 100% cancellation fee

When I think back to KL, we were at F Platinum, one of the best spots on the track, cost us less than INR 10k for a 3 day pass. This year, they even have a special promo on that & it works out to INR 5 or 6k with some freebies thrown in. Against that, this guy was recommending one spot near the War Museum in Singapore which has visibility of a couple of corners with overtaking opportunities, guess what the price is - S$ 900 lol - INR 25k!!!!!!

We all would plan if U can sponsor us.
As part of the sponsorship, we will wear T-shirts with "KP ROCKS" in the front and a huge picture of U on the back.
Jokes apart, I'd love to join if the trip is not too hard on my tiny wallet.
I personally would like to club a tour and the F1 race together.
So, what does a teetotaler get to enjoy in turkey?
