TBHP Meet @ Cochin; 26th Jan 2008

ripper's input :

1. marari beach- accessible via 4 lane - around 40km from aroor/cochin
2. azhikkal- accessible via 4 lane- 20km or less from aroor/cochin
3. or the usual kutti sthalam near the vypeen bridge
4. an eat meet somewhere.
both very nice beaches
1 is less crowded
2 is closer

of course all other suggestions welcome. i just jumped in cos no one seems sure what is to be done.

We plan to meet deepak when he visits Cochin.

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/route-...ce-needed.html

Would suggest a meet by noon or so ,have lunch and split.

I am driving from Tvm and will/should reach Chertalla by Friday eve.

How is the Metropolitan these days? Its been a long time since I've been there but the food - especially Kerala meals for lunch - has always been good and Nasha was one of the coziest lil bars in Town.

Make sure Deepak Honalli eats food cooked in pure coconut oil, even if he hasnt tried it before. Make him a full 'tourist' - Karimeen Pollichathu, Naadan Kozhi Curry etc (if he is non-veg that is). If he is veg take him to BTH Sarovaram - plenty of parking and the best Veggie meals in town.

How about the international? There is usually a laura with a vRS kit there. good parking available here

OR

we can meet at the Malabar House (MH)
sadly no parking, but we can booze up untill 11PM here.

Does anybody have some club memberships?

@ram, the beach plan is dropped. its just an Eat-meet. of course, when we split, we can then decide to go elsewhere. but that can be done during the meet.

metropolitan was good a few years ago, and I heard its still good.
International is pete's place. yes there is plenty of space, but dont know anything about the food.

any other hotels?more suggestions please.
The Trident at willingdon island is good, but looks pricey, Have never paid the bill there there was always some kind soul footing the expenses
club memberships- I dont have any

but the merchant navy club, next to the trident, does let people hold private parties. there is also a swimming pool. i used to be a member there. will not be difficult to rejoin.
but boiling in that pool in the midday sun is not my idea of a good time.

@govigov-Do we have to booze???? that will kind of rule out a post meet drive.

options so far

1.metropolitan
2.international
3.whyte fort
4.trident/merchant navy club.

whyte fort has ease of access going for it.

how do we set up a poll?
there is a nice punjabi dhaba near kalamassery that maxbhp told me about. will scout it today and let you guys know.once that is done, I'll add that to the list of above options. we can set up a poll by tomorrow. we are running out of time.

BTW where are hydra and zak.
and where are all the cochin bhpians?
I bet deepak has no way of seeing whats happening on the forum in munnar. will call him today and see what his preferences are.after all, the meet is in his honour.
