Team BHP Kolkata Meet - February / March '08

Guys, 8th March is a typo. the meet is on 9th March.

Date: 9th march Sunday
Time: around 1PM
Gather: Opposite Nicco Park.
Venue: we havent decided yet - but if the head count is less we will go somewhere nearby - either somewhere @ Saltlake or S-e-P or somewhere @ Parkstreet.

please decide.

if you dont have a ride - you can tag along with anyone of us

I'm quite surprised that no one's put up a report yet.
Well, it was my first meet in cal, and it was quite an awesome one. We all met up opposite Nicco Park. ShuvD and NOSpower were there first, in ShuvD's skoda. . then i landed up in my (rather family's) getz 1.1, next was ShuvC in his baleno followed by Saurabh M in his palio nv, Abhishek in his lancer, and finally Karan in his blue Vtec..
Sabret00the dropped in for a while(pulsar 180).. after a lil discussion and some people, checking out ShuvD's car.. we all set out for Sher-e-punjab dhaba, beyond the airport.. a decent drive.. although with large stretches of terrible road in between. Post khana and peena, Wimwian joined us at the dhaba.. detailed ICE comparison followed and then the best part , a drive on comparitively new and interesting Delhi road.. ofcourse ShuvD's skoda was quite the start of the show!
as for me and my car.. well it's been a long time since i drove a modern machine.. so even this big hatch with a puny engine was proving quite entertaining for me..ofcourse, my driving was quite ahem..fiat like! handling in the getz was good, but the tyres are a spoilt sport, making the car skid laterally at several occasions!!
as for now , i'm sure less objective, more interesting reports will come soon.. i'll just add the pics..

i hope the pics have finally been uploaded!!! overall, a good fun meet.. ofcourse would've been much better with the people who missed out on this one!

@ ronk: Thanks for posting the pics and the write up...honestly speaking I didnt think I would be able to drop in for today's meet...I tried to make it to Nicco Park by 1pm although I had a personal commitment today...luckily got to meet you guys and really didnt expect that would have happened...seems like you all had a great time...

Ronk: Thanks for the pics and report. The road that we took along the flyover from the Dhaba is the Belghoria "Expressway".

The star attraction of the meet was definitely ShuvD's Octy. It was a delight to watch him zooming past. And how can I forget the reverbating exhaust note inside the underpass.

As for me, this was my 2nd meet in all these days. Somehow things kept coming up on the meet days. This time, I made it a point that I will attend. It was nice to meet Karan, Sabre.., Ronk and NOS for the first time.
I was reliving every moment of the first meet that I had attended (drive to Reliance A1 Plaza - Bagnan).

BP and Planet, we missed you and others as well.
Planet, get well soon.

as for me i am still down with fever.

the SB will behave better if shuvd gets rid of the metal thingy-s (i guess old exhaust stuff) in the boot.

Ah! I was wondering what those were in the boot beside the JBL? Can't believe the SB has all that lying around in the boot. guess lack of garage space? eh!

@ Planet & Krazydriver - I've tried to smuggle in the old exhaust to room many times. But, as soon as my mother sees it, she throws the exhaust and me out of the house
