Don't do that. The PAL version sucks on a big screen since there is no 1080p mode.

You'd be better off on a 29"-32" CRT atleast until we start having GT5 meets.

It's called "Slipstream". The guy behind you has less wind resistance to fight against, so a larger % of his engine power is being used for acc.

Correct me if i am wrong, but most videogames have the catchup option enabled in the "arcade" version/mode. So check the settings there.

If the person is close behind (1 or 2 seconds behind), and its a high speed circuit (lots of straights + faast cars), then it is because of the slipstream as Shan2nu mentioned.

EDIT : If you guys are putting up timings, might i suggest
1. Try to use cars that will be available to everyone (even people who havent unlocked anything as yet)
2. Make sure you mention what tyres / settings were used.

I don't think a game like GT4 would have anything of that sort. Coz rem the time we used the GT Skylines to race on the test course. The only things that let us go faster than each other was "Slipstream".

Can everyone post the %age complete in GT Mode? I'm closing in on 90%. Currently running Nurburgring 24H in B-spec mode

. That should take me past 90% easily.

No shan wht dan was talking about is not SLIPSTREAM..We know know the 2nd car can gain in the 1st cars slipstream,but thats only possible on really long straights.We are talking real tight corners without room for slipstream,cause there is an option for CATCH UP in the arcade mode.
I have completed about 40%.

Yes iam aware of slipstream but its when you gain an advantage of around 3secs or so suddenly from nowhere the 2p catches up...no matter even if your lap is a record lap.

Its been 4yrs now i think and ive finished playing around 60%. Only endurance levels with classic cars are left and a few more.

Cars i think ive unlocked almost all the important ones except the classic cars. And the Bmw sauber is still left..thats only becuase i cant complete the N'ring in the missions.

Tuning - Maximum Tune and Lowest Weight,Racing soft Tires
Best Time(can be easily beaten) - 1'18.269

Tuning - Stock 495bhp
Weight - Stock 1100kgs
Tyres - Racing Soft
Driver Aids - None
Best Time - 1'18.788

PS : Will try max tune/least weight n post the time in a while.
