Pune Drive Ideas? Coverage By Indian Express

Its been a long time since we drove out of Pune as a group. Lets drive out on a weekend when majority of us are free. HKanitkar was recently approached by an Indian Express journalist who wanted to feature team-bhpians in their paper. Now Pune team-bhp meets are all about meeting up at a common place and getting drunk, etc which may not make a good media article (only in his opinion).

Please come up with ideas for a drive around Pune. I think Mulshi - Tamhini fit the bill well since most of you guys haven't been there. Also mention a convenient date (only March please) for the drive.

Based on suggestions I will get in touch with the journalist.

All the best!

MF, you know what this means for you na? For the first time in your life you stand the chance of having your mug in a newspaper for some story other than a crime/ obituary/ sexually transmitted disease awareness campaign.

Screw the drive. Lets go to Grand!

Yeah, Mulshi sounds cool. Though waht exactly what does the reporter want to feature? Us driving?! For that a closer venue where we can all chat together would be more apt.

Dunno about the state of the Mulshi road now.. Last time I went, the road beyond Paud village was full of potholes. Also, I have read in the papers that they have started collecting toll on Paud road.

How about Sinaghad ? .. Get some spare clutch plates along !!

Teri toh, I have been featured in every newspaper for my famous ride from Kashmir to Kanyakumari back in December 2003. We also had a 1 hour show on AXN detailing the ride . All this did not feature the umpteen bottles of alcohol we consumed every night. Imagine 25 days of drinking -

Kashmir to KanyaKumari (K2K) on Kinetic NOVA

I second that but, he will have a hard time believing that we also drive cars.

Its only a small section that is potholed. May be around 4-5 kms. Do you have an update on the status of Tamhini ghat.

We also have Shrivz with us. How do we ensure safe transport of his poor Baleno all the way up? And who takes care of Amey's transport? Btw, Sinhagad is more potholed than that road to Tamhini.

No updates. But as you said, its only 4-5 kms. But the surrounding scenery will be bone dry and hot now, given that summer has already started around here.. I guess nothing beats The Grand for an outdoor location (at night). Anyway, if its on this weekend, Kindly adjust maadi for my absence .

Enjoy your Goa drive. We'll NOT be doing this drive coming Saturday.

It managed to take Shrivz up to Sinhagad? How much did you spend on forged externals of your Baleno?

I agree with Suhail. Lets do a late afternoon drive on Sat / Sun? Say around 3:00 pm should be good. No one's come up with dates yet?
