If its ECR we can also look at 'Farm house', decent food & price, calm and lots of car park.

Within city, if we need to talk better to avoid bhavan's and Chenttinad restaurants.

It is not the way you describe at all, far from it. OK, you don't like such meets, fine. But is it necessary to be dismissive about them? All of us who attended the Vasantha Bhavan meet enjoyed it very much.
If it is early morning meet, then the bhavan's & a juice junction are my favorite choice.
For lunch/dinner, we do have to consider the type of food & ensure we have varities of food served which typically fall under veg and non-veg.. I am not game to pay 60/- rupees for a masala dosa.

Gansan, I am glad you guys had fun, that is what matters in the end. I did not intend to be dismissive, but merely expressed my opinion. Certainly not my cup of tea.

@ikoneer, Yep, there are a few other restaurants offering such discounts too.

Great you organised and some guys attended the vasantha bhavan meet, but how many meets have you attended to actually understand what happens in a meet? Nevermind - lets leave this as of now!

+1 to vikram.
Does not strike any sense to take a dig at someone for expressing his opinion. If John thinks that a bhavan meet is chaotic its purely his opinion even if he is being dismissive about 'bhavan meets'. Quite frankly i share the same opinion.

I dont really think its worth the effort when you have to escalate your vocal output to communicate across to the person sitting next to you while ducking and dodging delivery trays. All this while you have another family glaring at you while you eat, telling you in no camouflaged manner that they want you to get done and leave as they need your table.

If you still wanna know how many meets John has attended/organized, its probably more than the post count of quite a few people out here. "BHAVAN MEETS" included.

When He said lets not have Bhavan Meets, it was his opinion. Lets respect that and not indulge in personal attacks.

PS - I do not condemn BHAVAN meets - just that it does not make sense to hold a TBHP meet there. If anyone has anything against my statements - again its just my OPINION.

@ Bala - hope im contributing here

@Gansan.

different strokes for different folks.

I loved the breakfast meet in Vasantha Bhavan.

It was not noisy, everyone had a great time.
We spent a lot of time discussing cars/ bikes/ roads.
Wonder what else is there for auto philes to talk about.
It was good clean wholesome food.
A bill of Rs 70 per head.
Excellent service.
We had our own private corner.

The waiters were more than happy to serve us.

I for one am looking forward to my next breakfast meet.

I don't know if you can call the woodlands drive in a bhavan, but we have had some memorable meets there. Huge parking space & hanging around near your cars & still munching/drinking something & talking your heart out with friends. Beautiful place it was for a meet. The waiters will not bother you at all.

Now that does sound tempting

@ranjith - i presume your opening a restaurant or something to that effect, so that those discount cards will actually be accepted in that place?

@petrol thallai - Taking into view all the contributions you are making, I say we vote you as the new leader of the chennai gang, since the legendary sutta kambi has been disposed off.

And how about a bhavan meet at yercaud?

Disposed off? before he decomposes will someone please ask him how he manages to take C1 at full whack withought lifting off (read as 150kmph) and im not talking about a mofa or luna or something. I would definitely like to learn from him . The last time he enlightened me, he refused to share his secret. Guess at his pace the lamborghini's time of 1:57 is under threat. Or has the lightning rod unofficially broken it already?

BHAVAN meet at Yercaud - ROFL -Boss my head and tummy still hurt from the laugh riot at Pondy so dont make it worse.

Talking about food reminds me. - Nitrous - Rajasthani Thali for dinner.. what say? Been quite a while.

I see a lot of edited posts on this thread these days. Everyone seems to be in the mood to say something, then edits it to make sure they are "contributing"
Yeah, I'm in for the "bhavani" meet too. Shall we all prepare for yet another laugh riot?

I propose that this time sutta kambi be given an ultimatum - post on the thread, else you wont get invited.

P.S I think you guys are going to get me banned lol.

Guys I'm for anything. The Tirupati drive or the Yercaud drive. Prefer the over nighter at Yercaud though. That will be the fun.
