Sutta Kambi's recommendations come with one condition. All of us have to listen to his 4000 feet and $3000 stories from the start again. Now, thats a big challenge

For that, I wouldnt mind hearing Bala's 30,000 INR stories. Bala, can you please post a travelogue ?

I don't think anyone is rude here. Let us not take things personal.
Well, Its not like I hate the Highways.
I'd rater drive on the twisties. As for ECR, I don't really like the road/traffic.

thirunthifyed - means ?

No no no, nothing personal.

The last time we tried giving importance to the drive, you said that you dont like highways, and you dont like being driven around.
That doesnt really give you much of an option now does it? Track days do happen, I havent been to the track myself and am waiting for the chance. But when there are a large number of people with a consensus on a given plan, why would you want to ruin it with your "view".
Point taken and accepted.
Now I'm seriously thinking of joining the Yercaud gang.
But you guys have to drive slow so that I can keep up.

BTW which route will we take ?
NH45 or NH4 to Salem ? Are there any other route ?

Thanks. I am glad I am still entitled to a few things around here.
Anyway, lets keep all this stuff off the forum.
We are not contributing
Yup, you are right. we are not adding enough "masala" to the mega-serial.

Folks,

I havent really participated in any of the meets. But, I have been to one of a friday meet at Arka's place and that was sometime back. Met Ranjith, HotRod, Nitrous, Headers, Bottle...

And then I was really held up with most important things that happened in my life.

I was blessed with a baby girl in June and then my usual lonely drives to Kerala to see my kid! Now that my family is back with me in Chennai and things have settled down back at home I really want to meet you all for a drive! Not a brief one...

If we are looking at a drive which is more fun and gives the rush we need to burn some rubber on the hill drives! Yercaud is no fun to drive... The drive to Munnar from Dindugal does give a lot of rush! There are quite a lot of interesting hair pins and a train of TBHP cars would be quite a sight!

What say!?

Can a round trip from Chennai to Munnar be managed in 48 hours without night driving?

EDIT: What I mean is, can we leave on a Saturday morning and be back in Madras on Sunday evening before it gets dark, while still having time to relax on Saturday night?

I usually drive to Kerala via Dindugal.

It takes me 5-6 hours to reach Dindugal and from Dindugal its another 2-3 Hours drive till Munnar. It should be around 9-10 hours and its quite possible to come back in 48 hours time

If you are talking cars, there are a few, but they hardly come to the meets!

I can make it on 18th. Decide the venue and I will be there.

I did enjoy our last meet and I am looking forward for future meets. I am yet to discuss about the yercadu trip with my family , I am waiting for the right momet. I will be able to post my decision by next week.

Congrats on the baby girl man. Hope to see you and the baby at one of our meets soon.

I thought Munnar is not a weekend trip. All we would end up doing is go up , take a U turn and get back. I think we might need atleast 3 days for a comfortable drive upto Munnar and back.
