We have a drive scheduled for a friday - monday in December to a Sterling resort in Anaikatti (near Coimbatore / Pollachi).

Anaikatti is north west of Coimbatore and about 30 Kms. One goes via Thadagam. I think the resort is in Kerala, just after the border and about 10KMs after Anaikatti. I could not make it to the meet since I had a wedding on Sunday. Looks like you guys had a good time.

Well please come over to the one we are doing next month! That previous outing was by the Bangalore BHPians, we are coming over from Chennai.

Thanks for the invitation! I devote December to music. I may even spend a few days in a guest house in Royapettah to cut out the early-morning driving!

Even though my car would be so well suited to a long run, I don't actually feel up to it myself these days. Even Pondy seems like a long way these days

We're probably going to Kodaikanal instead as the originally chosen venue was sold out over part of both weekends. Found a nice homestay sort of place @ 2500 per room per night.

As for the December season, yes - that's something I like to catch as well, and I know an elderly Swede who shares your tastes in Carnatic and dhotis, and has comes over for each season for years. I am sure you'll already have met him, else he's a great guy to meet, so please let me know and I'll be happy to put you in touch.

Edit - if you wish to join us for a weekend, riding shotgun with one of us is always an option.

Edit 2 - I have a massive collection of carnatic (20 GB ++, mostly the old masters) on my phone and a reasonable stereo deck in my car, so if that's what you like, you could as well come with me and listen to Nedunuri, Chembai etc rather than some of the current crop

We might. But as it is a long weekend before Pongal and several schools have declared holiday right from the 12th got to see how many people turn up.

Can those who are available for a short meet (it will have to be a lunch or dinner somewhere in / near the city due to short notice) please put attendance here, respond to the thread.

The meeting is confirmed. At least, I will be there. Depends on how many bhpians turn up instead of going out of town for the Pongal weekend.
