The nearest long weekend is in April when there's a good possibility of 5 days around Mahavir Jayanti and Good Friday, after taking a day off. As Gandi and Belum will take a day each, this sounds like a worthwhile agenda for that time period.

Let me know about lunch/etc meetings, please. Especially if in OMR/ECR areas.

Breakfast is tough for me, but I am sometimes up in time for lunch!

What about a drive and meet up during this Pongal weekend?
Not sure about the others but I'm off on Monday - Tuesday.

How about we have that long, long time pending Tom's diner drive?
Tom's being in Vellore, maybe the Bangalore bhpians could make it as well?

Bhpian ksmrsm, has a place at Navalur in the OMR food street. Maybe we can have a meet there, and regarding breakfast being tough, we are on the same boat!!

Yes - ksmsrm (Sreeram)'s dhaba in the OMR food street at Navalur or our usual other places - Andhra or Boat Clubs. All good options.

Meanwhile let us plan for Tom's Diner on the Sunday after Republic Day. Does that work?

Best option is Yelagiri; 230 odd Km for Chennai folks & nearly 150 Km odd for Bangalore boys.

Chennai makkal can have B'fast at Vellore & then ride/drive towards Yelagiri for lunch
Bangalore boys can have B'fast at Shoolagiri & then ride/drive towards Yelagiri for lunch

Both teams have lunch, chit chat for while & then drive back respectively

When it comes to lunch there is really nothing much at Yelagiri. What we did last time was to start a bit late after a leisurely breakfast meet and then, after touring whatever part of Vellore Fort is still open to the public (not much, considering that the cops have appropriated a large part of it for their own use) we headed to Tom's Diner opposite VIT for a huge lunch. We can do that again, a lot of the Chennai people get quite nostalgic talking about the food at Tom's.
