There is a whatsapp group for local coordination of drives and meetups. Please PM me and I will send you details.

Hi Hserus! Unfortunately, I haven't hit the minimum limit for PM and would like to be part of the meetup group. Is it possible for you to send me the details? Appreciate it! Thanks.

Re: Chennai Team-BHP Meets

Am from Chennai as well and am an owner of a brand new Meteor. I don't have access to send / receive PM's. I would be definitely interested to join, contribute and participate on the Chennai chapter rides.

Is there a way that I can be included on those WhatsApp groups for co-ordination please?

email your contact number either to me or hserus.
Or you may wait until the newbie status changes.

I don't have your or hserus's mail ID. I have no issues in sharing it in this forum but not sure whether the forum rules allows me to do so.

If yes, rajeshkmoorthy@gmail.com is my mail ID. I can share my mobile number to you on mail.

Mods - Please delete this post if sharing mail ID is not allowed. Apologies for the ignorance.

I emailed you. Reply with your phone number and I'll have one of the admins add you. We are not coordinating anything beyond just discussing individual holiday plans at the moment - some few bhpians may decide to holiday at the same location though.

What is the status of the ECR four lane work now? How far is it complete between Chennai and Pondy?

work hasn't progressed, the way it should. Beyond Mahabs, 80% is still 2 lane except for few isolated stretches.

Re: Chennai Team-BHP Meets

I have not taken ECR for many years. After the initial few trips I always use the Tindivanam route for driving to Pondy. The last time I came to Chennai by ECR was in 2017, as a passenger in a cab. The status of work then was more or less same as what you describe. I thought it would have been complete now.

Re: Chennai Team-BHP Meets

Hello everyone!

Dropping in to to check if BHPians from Chennai would be up for an early morning Saturday drive.

Perhaps Chennai- Pondy. ECR route is the most direct, but like someone else said the Tindivanam route is much better.

Let's try to work something out!

IMO, the ECR is a lot more scenic, and would be a better choice for a leisure drive.

Tindivanam GST route is faster for those heading to Pondy from the north and west of the city, for whom commuting through the entire city before hitting the ECR would be a pain..

On the topic of the drive/meet, can we try for a sunday morning instead of a saturday, please?

Pondy is not a very fun drive at the best of times except for a few stretches. Either the boring old GST road, or passing through a succession of small towns and villages and two lane stretches that remove most of the pleasure of the rest of the road.

Going to Mahabs or somewhere on the ECR for a lunch meet is surely an option like we did Sea Rock in Mahabs a few months back.
