I have a sneaky feeling that BP is invincible. Period. Baleno/Alto/Santro .. is just incidental.

Wifey has opted out of Sankarpur. So my joining is kinda dicey (as usual). What are the planned dates?

How about driving to Shankarpur in the second weekend of May (9th/10th)? I am not really free any of the weekends prior to that.
If this date suits others, we can start planning accordingly.
Are we planning for a day trip, or is overnight stay involved (I am not too inclined towards this)? Do we need to book some rooms for the day, which resort, how much etc?
Please chip in with your suggestions and comments.

i have been to Shankarpur (hotel: The Nest, affordable, good food (for all who loves bong food + fish), booz, mast place to stay) thrice. the roads are good. one can go there and come back in the same day - but he will be tired like h3ll. its better to plan an overnite stay IMO. Bookings can be made through an agent at Golpark (beside the petrol pump). Room rates are quite affordable IIRC.

the beach is 2 mins drive from the hotel (driving on the beach is restricted / now closed due to some problems)

another option could be: Mandarmuni ( http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travel...ate-beach.html )

overnight stay is out for me. My Baleno can make it to Mandarmoni without scraping only if there are two people aboard, more than that I have to keep my car at home
How about Massanjore, the roads are good with some twists and turns to make Phoenix happy

The road to messanjore after crossing the border was really fantastic, apart from a couple of culverts that had gaps. But perfect for pedal to metal driving without any risk involved (apart from the driver error part that is). When latest did you check the condition of that road?

last year February and the road was really good..
FOr those who haven't gone there before, I have only one thing to say - if you love to drive you should go there. After taking left turn a few kilometers from Siuri, the road is scenic with very little traffic. Its ideal for pedal to metal as 1100D has said and I am sure the Silver Bullet and Phoenix would love it... let me see if I can find any pics from last year's trip..

Niiice. How long does it take to reach there? Overnight stay possible? If it's far away then up/down in one day may not be easy.
But the roads look damn inviting!!!
