Report & Pics: California Team-BHP Meet

Once again, I am writing a report of a Team-BHP meet that happened here in United States of America. This time, it is the west coast, California. Rehaan was on trip to California. Me(Stratos), Moralfibre, Rehaan plan to meet up at a Go-Karting Track in Burlingame, CA. Lovely race track, we do a qualifying session and 25 lap race session on a track called Monza. Results, Rehaan came second, Moralfibre came fourth, and me, fifth. (I will scan and post the race results soon). Later, we decide to check out the Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG belonging to Rehaan's uncle. Some insane acceleration runs we done. We wanted to try the Distronic (Radar guided cruise control) but there was too much trafic on freeway 101, so we didnt. Later, Rehaan dropped me and Moralfibre at Broadway Caltrain station. We took a few pictures and then headed home. It was a great way of spending saturday evening, on the karting track. The karts were good, the track was awesome, overall we felt that the money was well spent.

Good pics there and wow the hotrod is awesome in red.
@Stratos: Is Burlingame in the San Mateo County as i visited once for a game of cricket in one of the high schools off EL Camino Real, long back during my Masters around 4 years back. I think it is known as the "city of trees". Definitely had seen a lot of trees around

It was a fun meet. I had been pestering Stratos to do a karting meet plan for quite some time now. Finally it happened today. The Go Kart track is one of the best around here and quite challenging as well. It has been quite some time since I drove a kart and my drifting skills are well known to Rehaan by now . Every corner I would be sideways to see Rehaan following me dead close.

Overall it was a fun break from work and that E55 AMG experience was exhilarating.

I may have missed something, but are you and Rehaan running some kind of Team-BHP promotional tour in the States? First NY now CA. Whats next, dudes?

I love the colour on that E55; understated class. Bet the gokarting wasn't as much fun as our maniacs in Mahabaleshwar time?

Oh yea you bet! We did discuss some of those hilarious instances from the Mahabaleshwar trip like, karting in the rain, with a helmet that did not have any visor and all the wet mud on our faces, broken wheels of a go kart and the best of all, "Isme Dics Break hai!!"

On a roll and I don't mean bread!

Man, you guy're sure on a roll.
East Coast to West Coast within a few weeks.

Loving the alloys on the E55!

Any pics of the karting?

Which reminds me - there's a fairly new track come up around the NY/NJ area -> Velocity 17

ps. Stratos planning to be the next Armani model, what?

I was thinking the same thing. Stratos, seriously go for it.

@ Kiran - Nice pictures of the train. You have some more ? And no I haven't seen any movie starring Dharmendra & Vinod Khanna.

Indeed it was a super meet!

We were put on the track with a bunch of other guys, some of whom had some prior experience and were really good - and some others who didnt know what the "let the guy behind you pass" flag meant!
The track was the rubberised surface and even had a little bridge-like elevation change. I was stuck behind MoralFibre on the grid and for the next few laps he was glancing at me sideways as he skid around every turn. lol.
It was a fairly long session and was totally enjoyable.

After karting i dropped MF and Stratos to the train station, but along the way i caught them by suprise with a little 1st gear roll-on acceleration. The E55 had been filled up with some 100octane racing fuel + 91 octane to get the suggested 93* octane mix - so i guess she was at her best behaviour (which got even better when the weather got cooler that night!).

I agree, the color + the AMG bodykit and alloys make this one reallllly good looking E-class.

I think Rehaan didn't want to steal your thunder, Stratos. So when are you taking up that modeling contract again?
