The RS just sampled the circuit. It did not race with anyone

Would have been fun to drag with it though!

Thanks everyone, great report !

P.S. - What were the approximate times being set by the Esteem, the Gypsy, the 800, & the RS ?
Hi Srini, The roll cage has been made mandatory for P&P.

About MMSC members availing discount, dunno, you could contact our D-TBhpian Sideways a.k.a Farhan Vohra for those details.

And regard to timing. We did not officially time anyone, remember we went ot have fun, push the vehicles to the limit and expand your limits, driving skills!

We were in the region of 2.30 - 3.00 minutes! full loop

@headers

"The roll cage has been made mandatory for P&P. "

So without roll cage you cannot drive your car on track ?
I'm confused by the reply.

Is there anything other than P&P ?
I've gone through the MMSC site and got totally confused with the table put up there.

Anyway could you help out ?

1. can we take our "stock" car on to the track ?
2. Is a membership required for this ?
3. What is the time/laps allowed ?
4. What is the damage ($$$) for non-members ?

@yzfrj: Firstly, care to explain your handle ? LOL

secondly, all your questions are to be directed to guys who handle track days on the forum, viz, Nitrous, Madan80, Sideways etc.

I am not the correct person to talk about the MMSC track rules. Given an opportunity, I'd love to race on the track - Period.

First track day- in a 800

I had actually planned to be there as a spectator, however I went for a ride in Nitrous's esteem and was bitten by the bug to drive my car. My car's clutch is in it's final stages and so I was a little apprehensive. But you know us motor heads don't think rationally. So paid up and took my car in the track. The first lap was with Nitrous as passenger and he showed me the braking points and lines. I had initially thought that I would go the first lap slow but halfway through I was doing pretty fast. At one point I almost lost it and decided to take it slow until I understood the track.

Then I did 2 laps with Mission Safari as my passenger and these laps were pretty good and I happened to glance at my speedo once and to my suprise I was doing 105 kmph in 3rd gear. I immediately eased off. I was worried about the car.An interesting ancedote here is when I got into the track, I did not check the rear view mirrors and I was just building up speed through C1 and was about to cut into C2 when I saw headers's Gypsy zip past me on the inside. Wow that was the shock of my life. Read I was already 70kmph at that point and I was seconds away from coming into the turn. Later Headers said he had been behind me for a couple of turns and he had honked which i hadn't heard.

Finally me and headers went out into the track in my car. He rode shotgun and I did a lap to show how I was driving and that he can give out opinions. Then he took me out for a couple of laps and now I was passenger. Boy 'o' boy wat a difference. He was much faster. I had though I had been fast to the max with my car. Well I hadn't used the brakes at all since the brakes were weak in the 800. He showed me how to hard brake before corners and carry the speed.

Overall it was a learning experience with lots of fun added. Thanks Nitrous for being the 'Organriser' for this track day. Thanks Mission Safari for the pictures and the thread and finally thanks headers for the valuable inputs.
Headers the whole point of having you test my car out was that you will give your opinions about it. No sorry necessary.

I almost forgot. The RS was awesome.

What we need to do is to call up so and so and request to permit us for P 'n' P. Tell him it is non competetive and we are amateurs just wanting to learn and use the track! Thats what we claimed and yahoo the gates were thrown open!

Racing ? what is that ?
Never ever heard of it

We are just trying to make the car go faster.

The other guy is trying the same and it just so happens that we are on the same road/track, just noteworthy alignment of two or more events or circumstances without obvious causal connection.

But its not racing, is it ?

We are tourists we know nothing
