As many in the UAE know already, the Barbican Turbo Fest is scheduled for this weekend at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

Some of us are thinking in terms of making a trip to AD for this event and Wheeler has been busy on his mobile SMSing everyone.

Lets head out there on Saturday morning to catch the first show by Team Orange (Drift Challenge) and check out the cars. The program for Saturday is here:

Adrenaline Sports Live - Show

Tickets are 50 bucks for a day, 100 bucks for the weekend (all three days). Gulf Petroheads Gulf Petrolheads, the online pitstop for bike, car & motorsport enthusiasts in the Arabian Gulf - Index members get 25% off on the wekend passes.

Personally I think this Barbican thing is nothing but a social event. The real thing happens in Dubai during the same weekend, at the Dubai Motorsport Festival:

So if you dont feel like driving to AD for the Barbican event, we can always drive down a few kms to the Autodrome to smell the rubber burning.

PS: If we decide for the Barbican Event at AD, I cannot drive as my back is in a bad shape - we will be one car short.

I had a word with Joz earlier today. He won't be able to make it as he has something planned for Friday. He may come if it's on Saturday. Haven't been able to reach Sunil. V1kram is out of town till December (long leave. Apparently, very long leave. He left a couple of months ago).

Those interested in the drive to AD can post their confirmations here. Also, please send me an SMS (050 157 1185) / PM regarding the same. The list as of now is:

CK, those pictures from the drift arena are great. I'm sure seeing it live would have been much better. Sadly, I couldn't make it. Will try to make it to the autodrome this afternoon.

The day just got better. Got an invite to join the training by the pro himself - Mr. Craig Jones. The only bummer is, it was all last minute. Waiting for the Jag to come and pick me up. So if we make it time, this is Steeroid's birthday present!

Nice pics CK. Couldn't make it yesterday. No pics from the turbo fest? And yeah, would have been great if you could have joined in today.
