Flashback 2007:
A group of crazy bhpians from different parts of the world arrive in Malaysia.
Rocks the town with all the madness.
Shout louder than the V8 roars of F1 cars.
Goes pub hopping and dance like Bappi Lahiri(s) on steroids.
Applies sun tan lotions and gets burnt in the scorching hot sun.
Eats, drinks and makes a lot of fun and frolic.
Drools at all the fancy, bling bling wheels (2 legged varieties too) around.
Goes on a raid in each and every shopping paradises (for undies).
They turn Kuala lampur upside down.
Umm mm mm.. ..
Also gets to watch a fantastic GP race!
(Dramatic music plays...)
Guys! (clears throat)
It's 2009!
We have a fantastic F1 season starting up soon. 'Shocking' technological advances. Dramatic design evolutions. Great set of confusing rules. Eye rolling controversies. New drivers. Old warheads. New tracks. Breathtaking locales. Sexy pit actions. Amazing excitement!
Ain't it inviting enough?
From March 29th this year, it all begins.
Here's the
2009 F1 Calendar.
29 March: Australia
5 April: Malaysia
19 April: China
26 April: Bahrain
10 May: Spain
24 May: Monaco
7 June: Turkey
21 June: Great Britain
12 July: Germany
26 July: Hungary
23 August: Spain
30 August: Belgium
13 September: Italy
27 September: Singapore
4 October: Japan
1 November: Abudhabi
Each and every race has it's own pros and cons. Some offer the best action on track while some offer amazing views. Some are heavenly expensive while some are a great trip by itself. Some are close by while some are worth travelling a light year.
The intention I started this thread now is to have an idea of what our fellow bhpians think of a
live F1 meet like we did at
Malaysia in 2007 .
Now, please keep in mind
before you post or vote on this thread.
1. Only serious posts.
2. Please mention clearly why you prefer the GP you have voted for.
3. Please don't post if you just want to say: I cannot come.
4. Each and every vote will be taken seriously and will reflect in deciding on the venue/race for the meet. Please choose responsibly.
5. Ask any question/doubt you may have regarding your participation.
Thanks for your kind cooperation.
In the poll options, I am avoiding Australian and Malaysian GPs. This is due to the less time we have to prepare for the trip. We need to plan according to everybody's convenience and arranging all the necessities and formalities involved may take some time. So, just to be on the safer side. Maybe I'm too cautious in this. Please suggest if those races should be added to the poll as well.
Costs involved may vary according to the GP and packages. Some are as cheap as 20-25k per person for the whole package including return airfares. Some are as expensive as 5L per person. Last time we did Malaysia for approximately 15k + airfare + personal expenses.
Some GPs worth a special mention here:
1. Abudhabi.
Penultimate, final and brand new race location. Not far with interesting packages in promise.
2. Brazil.
Exotic, action filled and sexy race location. Good packages but very far (may take more than a day's travelling time).
3. China.
Oriental, different and a very affordable race location. Interesting packages and not far.
4. Bahrain.
Hot, beautiful and screaming race location. Very affordable packages and the nearest.
5. Turkey.
Attractive, breath taking and exciting race location. Not very far but not very cheap either. Attractive packages on offer.
6. Singapore.
Should I say?
The only night race in the whole F1 history yet. Not far but a bit expensive. More affordable packages on offer now though.
7. Monaco.
One of a kind, exciting and most action filled race location. Also the most expensive. Very expensive packages on offer this time too.
8. Germany.
Classic european and eye catching race location. Attractions include Sam's sasuraal! LOL.
That's all what I have now, folks!
Breath deep and click on the vote options. :-)
Thanks.
