Bombay Meets for all 2009 F1 Races

Guys, F1 season is just a couple of weeks away! I'm starting this thread so we can meet up to view all the races together in Bombay.

The first one, Australian is on Sunday 29th march at 12:30pm. Let's meet either at sports bar at phoenix or jazz by the bay at churchgate. Both places have awesome buffets as well.

Guys, I have just come to know that a place called Busaba, Colaba(apparently behind the Taj) is gonna show the Race LIVE. I just talked to someone from the Sports Bar, and they might not show the first one housr of the race, so Sports Bar is out of the question.

Busaba, is offering some package of Rs.500 per head, again, this is what i have heard and I am not sure abiout it.

Any takers??

If anyone is interested, we could make a group reservation like we did last year for the Singapore Grand Prix.....

So let me kow ASAP!!

Not sure if I'm in on the Australian, but definitely on for some of the other races. I miss Sidewok, t'was the best place to watch the races and always filled with pure F1 fanatics.

Let me know which place you guys zero in on.

Absolutely!! Nothing can beat the enthusiasm and atmosphere at Sidewok!

I some how dont like Sports Bar and other places. Now-a-days its filled with wannabes and hasbeens. They have no knowledge of F1, just know two teams - Ferrari and Mclaren. Claps for each and every overtaking move. I understand overtaking is difficult and not everyone's cup of tea but please you dont have to shower applauses when Mclaren overtakes Super Aguri, if Mclaren cant do that much then they should pull out of F1.

Anyways, any place with small amount of crowd, even one screen will do, but should be fun to watch!

P.S - Since GTO mentioned Sidewok, I found this article - F1 @ Sidewok

OYE OYE OYE. WATCH IT my friend.

You know theres a lot to say about Ferrari too. Little mind wandering break a ferrari at every raceday KIMI and Loo** Massa.

You sure you want to start the WAR here. Chill with the word ah say.

Maybe we'll let this race slide since its early in the morning. But 4.30 pm races iam on. Anywhere.

I guess no one is interested in meeting up.

Just another piece of information, The BRew Bar at pheonix will also be showing the race. The Sports bar will not be showing it this time as it co-incides with their buffet times.

Thats because this race is in the morning. If its the usual 4.30pm races then its better. Also the previous night would be the bhp meet night so its better to skip this one.

So the Melbourne race meet-up didn't happen, due to timings etc. Any plans for future races? Would be interested in joining in, especially if it's happening town-side.

We might be looking at a Malaysian GP meet. However we cannot find a place as good as Sidewok. We tried Sportsbar, full of wannabies. You have any bright ideas or know any place?

Not just jazz by the bay is my next choice after sidewok. Good crowd.

Another option we have sometimes used is tendulkar's when there are too many of us. Their sports bar is quite empty with only a few people so we have the full place to ourselves.

Geoffreys is also a hot favorite for f1 races but gets full very quickly.

Starboard at taj was another option, but i don't know the current situation.

Karma at opera house show only select races for some stupid reason. Then there is smooth at shalimar also.

Indus shows races sans commentary sometimes.

Jazz by the bay sounds good. Screen and sound decent? Whats the cover charge there?

Ya decent screen and sound. Entry charge depends on number of people inside. Sometimes no entry fee and when crowded, they charge 150 entrance charge (not cover charge).

I would still recommend Tendulkar's if many people meeting up.

Dippy willing to come to town? Wow! That's great! Dips, how about using your contacts and getting a screen fixed at your favourite joint, Noorani?
