OK, so the Mumbai gang's monsoon meet generated a lot of talk up North as to why we can't have a monsoon meet. One major reason is we haven't had much of a monsoon here, other than a bit of a shower once in a while here and there. But then who needs an excuse?

So we are going ahead, rains or not, with a meet and a drive. And surely we shall beat the Mumbai gang as far as the drive is concerned. We are visiting Himachal!

Although this thread is meant for the Gurgaon quick meets, if you are anywhere nearby and want to join, by all means do! We may not beat the Mumbaikars in numbers, but we do plan to beat them in spirit (not literally of course).

Finally home after more than 24 hours! What a drive, what a drive!

Ever seen an Accord scale up/down steep gradients one deems fit for off road vehicles, specially where an S Cross and an Ecosport had wheel spin and articulation issues?

Ever seen a complete stranger bring food and drinks for all members in the drive, and stays awake 24 hours (no kidding!) to ensure the driver of the vehicle does not doze off?

Ever seen maddening, incessant rains filling roads and flyovers with water, but two bikers and four cars braving the elements to put the finishing touch to an amazing drive?

Ever passed the same toll booth four times in the same day on a drive?

Ever handed the drive of your car to your friend and found he drives your car better than you could?





All this can only happen on a Team BHP drive! As we had planned this to be a monsoon drive, the rain gods finally smiled, then grinned and then laughed uncontrollably as the skies opened and the downpour intensified as we reached the outskirts of Delhi. A grueling test of man, machine and elements!

Well, after that 24+ hours of drive to welcome the monsoon or I rather put it “brining along the monsoon from the mountains to Delhi/NCR”, the month gone by(August) was much needed for relaxing and perhaps the reason for all the BHPians taking the lazy lanes not putting any pictures.

I let foretaste the “Team-BHP Delhi-NCR monsoon meet” which was held on 30th July 2017 in the following 25 pictures of this post and 10 in the one to continue. Enjoy!

The flag-off: Its already 4:50am as we(12 BHPians in 4 cars & 2 mobikes) assemble at the out skirts of north Delhi on the GT road(NH-1)

No more pictures after this as it was already setting dark, but still a lot was there on our way, for we had to bring the monsoon along with us. Hit down the plains by 22:15 hrs and then after taking the gas stopped for dinner at Nik Bakers. Started past 23:30 hrs, it was still dry but as we headed close to Delhi, torrential rains hit our way with zero visibility and flooded highway. Hats off to everyone for their commitment to reach home, no matter how bad it was.

While we inside our cages could feel the brunt, special salutation to our 2 bikers who dealt with all this head on!

Special thanks to everyone who made it to this successful Team-BHP meet. After 25+ hours on the roads, we all where safely back at our homes.
