SEP Kolaghat is too far to drive back from after the meet. Plus it's terribly crowded on weekends. Last Sunday we were there and it was much like a Rather Mela there.
Reliance AI Dhaba has changed hands recently and the new owner is going to reopen it soon. This is what we were told last Saturday on our way up to Tajpur. As of now it's closed.
Motel Midway is a good option. But what's wrong with SEP Birati?

But these restaurant meets end up being like a conference where you are fixed to a seat. Let's do a day-long Dhulagarh kind of thing again.

most of this year - have been quiet - checking over the threads from time to time. Anyway just an update - have come back from a round trip to Vizag and back - exhausted but the highway is good - just wish I was younger.
anyway, now enthused about a trip all the way down to Bangalore and back - intend doing down journey on NH6 then turn off before Chennai to Tirupat and spring a surprise on sonny boy. Way back want to do B'lore to Hyderabad then onto Vijayawada and same NH6.
Did read about one BHPian who did this route but need help on the update condition of roads
any one - any input ??
