Arrey baba, kya bataan karte re bhai? Poora lorry chale jaati galli-galli ghuske. Abhi apun ko cycle-motor kaun dilaaraa re bhai?

Seriously guys, leave your bikes at home - car-pool. There is no problem driving there, I have been driving there for the past 20 years. The pain is only in the parking and one should be prepared to walk 200M.

I just realised that Anant Chaturdashi (Ganesh immersion) is on 3rd Sept. Anyone game for a meet on 2nd night? Anyone game for a trip to Narsapur forest (wherever that is) Medak (to see the Cathedral) or Shameerpet on 3rd?

Cheers,

I am in Begumpet. Can i hop in to somebody's car?

Or another idea is to park the car in Abids and take an auto to Charminar...

Medak is roughly 100 Kms from here. Theres this beautiful old church and the medak fort to see, which can be completed in a couple of hours. I went there on the Aug 15 weekend.

Cheers,
I am skeptical with my driving to Charminar, so I wont be taking my car. Walking is fine with me. Haleem ke liye utna to chalna hee padta na..

Medak is quite nice.
The distance is about 100 kms.
The route via Miyapur.
Roads are good.

Breakfast easily available in Medak. Decent restaurants.

The church is beautiful. Its taller than the Charminar and was built around the second decade of the twentieth century.

Near the church is the Pocharam wild life sanctuary.
You need to try and get to the now dilapidated forest officers house.

Carry good camera with zoom lenses. The lake attracts some very beautiful birds.

For lunch, stop at a dhaba about 50 kms or so on your return journey.
I don't remember the name. But this was on the left hand side and the first dhaba, we came across.

Guys,
Check out SHAH GHOUSE, at SHAH ALI BANDA a little beyond the PISTA HOUSE (old city) for the best Haleem.
Connoisseurs tell me that it beats Pista House, any day.
Me, 700kms from home and still drooling on the imaginary Haleem.
Regards,
