I am dropping off due to some work that has come up right now and will require to be done by EOD. Sometimes, i hate working from India for an American company who think we all are in the same timezone. :(

Final adda will be the same place since the route you take will go through main charminar route which we should avoid.

Satish, what about you? Hope to see you there at ohris.

Straightdrive already started from jubliee hilss.

That was a good short sweet haleem meet. Me,Ravvs,Kkrk2,Straightdrive and Mihiran enjoyed haleem and biryani
at Shah Ghouse in Shalibanda. Haleem was superb and biryani was also good but tje meat
pieces were a bit tough so had eice mostly which was perfectly fragrant. After that sumptious
meal we visited Shadab at madina and parcelled Khubani ka meetha and Kesar firni which we devoured standing
on the purana pul.

Pulsar, Anurag and Hillram couldn't join as they were stuck in traffic jam.

All in all a good hydie boys night out

Meeting got over at 8:00 and I picked up Anurag at 8:15.
Ram called us at 8:35 and we were just entering Tolichowki area!
By the time we picked up Ram from Masab Tank, it was almost 9:45, thanks to the water logging and the huge traffic jam!

Since all the other folks at Shah Ghouse were almost done, we decided to have Haleem at Sarvi, Rd. no. 1.

Haleem was followed by delicious Firni at Mehdipatnam. (actually, we had to hunt for it!)

Where?

Mehdipatnam points to Banne Nawab.
But hope you found some new place.

As others have mentioned - only part of the gang made it to Cafe Shah Ghouse in Shah Ali Banda (past the Charminar on the Srisailam Rd.) The other lot got stuck in water logged roads and traffic jams. Driving there for the ones who made it was a breeze as traffic was thin. By the time we finished however - traffic had picked up and getting out was a problem.

The haleem in Cafe Shah Ghouse was excellent, I would rate it almost on par with Shahdaab (just a tad lower). The haleem here is smooth and thick with a lot of meat. I prefer the one at Shahdaab as it was slightly more delicately spiced and more flavourful. I also liked the texture of the haleem at Shahdaab better. The service and ambience at Shahdaab is much better. Right now Shahdaab remains on top.

The only other thing that seemed to be moving well in Shah Ghouse was biryani so we ordered the same. The biryani though smelling good did not live up to its promise - the method of preparation is different as the pieces seem to be fried and added to the biryani at the end of the cooking cycle. To my mind Shah Ghouse did not live up to the hype. The place is absolutely inexpensive though (it is a working stiffs joint).

Places on my hit-list:

Nayaab, (on the left after crossing Naya-pul, just short of Madina)
Shehraan, (on the left near a Kamaan after Madina)
Hy-line, (King Kothi Rd. just short of King Kothi)
Asian - for chicken harees (Nampally)

If anyone is game let us do it this Saturday night.

With all the temptation of the Haleem Meet yesterday, could not make it due to my working hours, however the desire for Haleem was so strong that I picked up 6 plates from Sarvi- Mehdipatnam..4 for me and the balance for the family.

Taste is the same and they have maintained the quality levels the same over the years.

Ravvs sir..your list of places for Haleem is too tempting to resist. These line of hotels is one of the best and you get real authentic stuff.
