Looks like before you come to Hyderabad. You would meet majority of the gang who keep passing by the sugar land one after the other

Look forward to meeting you when your in Hyderabad. When's/how long is your trip to Hyderabad by the way?

Like RR & Nazim have said it was a perfect day. After days of sweltering heat Sunday dawned nice and cloudy and it had rained a fair bit through the night too. The outside temperature was 23 degrees as we set off. 9.30 saw the bulk of us at BHEL gate. Suren landed up in full kit on his GTS!!

We tried to dissuade Suren from taking his bike along but Suren in his childlike enthusiasm (well known quality in him & that which makes him so lovable) insisted on undertaking the drive on his bike. Nothing much to be done about it, so we set off in 3 cars and a bike.

A few KM down the road we receive a call - Suren has abandoned his plan of riding all the way, has parked his bike in a Petrol bunk and wants to be picked up - Halleluah.

Now the story in pics:

The NH 9 to Mumbai on a lovely cloudy day with green alongside

The ever exciting road to Bidar after the turn off from the NH, this road is scenic, fast and fun

Hyderabad: Sep'09 and Oct'09 Meets-100_2120.jpg

These tombs peek out from behind trees and buildings on the way to the Gurudwara and have intrigued me on every visit so Nazim and I decide to visit them this time. They are in a sorry state and are crumbling, the vegetation growing from the walls and domes shows that the only interest the Archeological Survey of India has taken is to put up a board with their name on it.

Done with the town we drive along this green road to our spot.

more. ....

Cheers,

Uh, is that some kinda bod(d)y workout, ram?!

Anyways, glad you guys had a great time! I ended up waking up too late (as usual! ) yesterday to meet up at BHEL (which is like the other end of the city for me!) plus my car too wasn't all ready (needed a wash, tune-up etc.)

Ravvs, pity about those tombs! What tombs are those btw?

Wish I knew. ASI has not put any information there so I will have to check net & any books.

Ram asked about the spot - here it is (sorry about the bad stitching - my mistake).

Hyderabad: Sep'09 and Oct'09 Meets-100_21351.jpg

The trusty steeds do duty as pantry, music system etc.

Hyderabad: Sep'09 and Oct'09 Meets-a100_2125.jpg

Three musketeers (actually one musketeer and two Jr. Musketeers) brave enough to climb the tower.

Hyderabad: Sep'09 and Oct'09 Meets-100_2130.jpg

The Juniors watch as their hero climbs ever higher.

Hyderabad: Sep'09 and Oct'09 Meets-a100_2092.jpg

Our tiger stretches out (after all we are shahi nawabs) while at the same time keeping a watchful eye on the cubs who are on the tower.

Hyderabad: Sep'09 and Oct'09 Meets-a100_2134.jpg

The only fauna we saw (wont actually qualify as wildlife) though we heard peacocks and several other birds.

Hyderabad: Sep'09 and Oct'09 Meets-a100_2138.jpg

Now the flora -

@ waist level

Hyderabad: Sep'09 and Oct'09 Meets-100_2109.jpg

& high up

Hyderabad: Sep'09 and Oct'09 Meets-a100_2143.jpg

Perspective

Hyderabad: Sep'09 and Oct'09 Meets-a100_2141.jpg

A view of the "Dhannomatic" (thanks Himanshu for giving HRH-RR's steed an apt name). HRH-RR & the Dhannomatic again imitated a cruise missile, starting at point A and unwaveringly proceeding to point B at a constant speed. Gosh, I will miss the Dhannommatic on our drives not to mention that all of us will sorely miss our own ever cheerful livewire - Rajesh Rawal, aah well Chennai's gain, Hydeez loss.

Hyderabad: Sep'09 and Oct'09 Meets-100_2144.jpg

Thanks Nazim for the pics of the Tank on a wet road - now I know how effective the tyres are (see the track with less water than the road) and the rear fog light are in the rain.

Cheers,
