Bangalore meets have been happening, but not in general sense. For example, OTRs are one frequent event where Team-BHPians keep meeting every month.
Thanks Samurai for the links. Looks superb and 37 people coming for that is a good number and all the cars were beaming. Main thing 3 Safaris next to each other.WOW that is great

That's Good news Samurai. Thanks for this information. As you rightly said, the meet in its true sense - A General Meet might not be happening. I agree this is difficult too for the huge member base in bangalore to have a common meet. Nevertheless I hope for a bigger meet.

BTW, Could you please share some more info on the OTR ?

They will throw you out before you can get in for mistaking Linea for a 1100.

Aha..Hat's off to the legendary Fiat 1100 club members - Fiat must have been inspired to continue in india. How I wonder, why I sold off my vintage few years back.

DD, its a Fiat 1100 club and not a Fiat Linea Club

I am in too for any of the options for the t-bhp meat.Personally option 2 sounds better.

I don't want to sound arrogant but displaying public messages regarding road behaviour will not work at least in bangalore/mumbai.These places consist of rich as well as the poor people living on the fast lane.no one has time for anyone. The poor in a hurry to make ends meet and the rich in a hurry to get richer.
The max these messages would do is bring a smile on peoples face.
People will have a look at the displayed messages give a grin and forget all what they read in this buzy world. Not to mention the ruckus it would create on the already clogged bangalore roads when all the autofreaks along with their beasts and beauties come down together on the road.

Though I agree it would bring good PR for team bhp.

Better would be to organise a ride which was done by team-bhp members in Mumbai I guess for the physically handicapped children.
I tried to dig up that thread but was unsuccessful. The mods can help us out here.

But whatever you guys decide, I am in.Be it a rally,be it a picnic or be it a social activity.I am ever-ready.

My safari does not have stickers yet but would have soon as soon as I get rid of my laziness and create an account on paypal.

How dare I say so. Already dreaming of a Linea club !

The poor in a hurry to make ends meet and the rich in a hurry to get richer.

Well Said !

I am sure there would be many such ideas cooking up in all of the members. A quick meet will ensure that we have the best idea chosen unanimously.

First and foremost, is such an event going to have "official backing" from TBHP?

I have attended several meets, but normally just prefer being a silent watcher here. Truth is, Bangalore seen has dwindled down, there is no denying that. You post dating back to Feb 2009 just proves that. To really get an idea about how the Bangalore TBHP scene used to be one has to look at these threads.

Submitted my previous post by mistake before I could type the whole thing. Mods, kindly merge both the posts.

So from what I am reading on this thread, few of us will drive around town spreading awareness in our cars with slogans and stickers put on them? Which in effect means we are going to be causing a few jams as well? I am not against promoting safe driving, but like all things I think this should begin at home. First get yourself to drive safe, then get the immediate family members to do the same, then move onto the friends circle etc.. I think we must concentrate more on the people we know, than trying to do something like this and causing inconvenience to the whole city. And those who want to drive really fast, help them get themselves enrolled on a few of these track days that happen. Hope my post is taken in the right spirit.

Haven't there been many such similar attempts on this already on the forum?

My sincere suggestion would be, meet up generally, have fun, discuss cars etc and try to inculcate this safety aspect amongst the group first and then move on to the entire city (if need be).

That is what we will also be doing. We will just meet once and know each other because many many of us are new and have some discussion on and disperse on a note that we will be meeting some time later for a drive etc etc

Infractions: 0/3 (12)

maybe it is the recession and uncertainty that is affecting these get togethers
plus a lot of people have packed weeks at work and equally packed weekends with their other responsibilities!
life like they say, happens when one is making other plans!

I am eagerly looking forward to such a meet in BLR.

But why dont we make it a simple day meet rather resorting to rallying the roads and especially in BLR where it is more known as 'JAMalooru' than 'Bengalooru'.. It would be nice if there is a simple meet(good if we can tag our family as well) to an outskirt, get together, lunch together and have a good time rather driving thru the city roads and getting frustrated with the jam. I am already frustrated with the BLR jam as a daily office goer !!! . By this, we dont need to really wait for stickers, figuring out options for banners et al...

Apologies if its my ignorance, after going thru the thread I was not able to infer any finalized dates..Can someone please update ? I would be able to make it if not for any dates between Dec 26th-1st.

@DigitalDragon..you should be joing PUG on Yahoo Groups if you are looking to get mixed in a FIAT crowd...

Wonder how many artwork geniuses are here? Can someone with the skills and time to spare create a few designs about the messages?
Just because we care doesn't mean we need to scream it out from the rooftops. To give you an idea of just how much TBHP cares in BLR, the last time there was a TSD rally for the blind, TWO MEMBERS SHOWED UP. So you're wasting your time.
