Didn't had shovel ? to clear the sand beneath.....

Sorry for mentioning as rope, actually it is called as Towing Strap, Nylon and it comes in various load capacity.

What cables you referring to ? steel ropes ?

I have that too. But I was not carrying my offroad recovery kit, which has a lot of stuff. I only carry it for offroad events. Since I don't take GV offroad, I was not really expecting anything like this.

I have tow strap like this, which can hold up to 4000+ Kgs. Amazon.com: 20' Ft Heavy Duty 10,000 Lb Tow Strap with Hook: Automotive

The steel cable on the winch generally exceeds the rating of the winch, so that's not an issue.

Well!! The spade part came later on.. We got to use a "L" shaped typical garden spade to do the job.. locally its called "KHORE" in tulu/Kannada!

I guess it also proved a bit in rescuing... In fact without combined forces be it Concrete lifting Bhpians, man power, Horsepower, brain power, ropes, Khore, Coconut leaves! Rescue would be impossible without either of them!

Moral of the story! "Unity is strenght"

Samurai : If the rope breaks, we will be hit with a cloth rope, which can't be that bad.
Can still be risky : a snapping rope can still land a good thump on the metal body and create a dent. Though not everytime, but it is still something I would be wary of.

Quick thinking.

Like Girish mentioned, a shovel will be very helpful. Suggest you carry one all the time.

Darn, how i missed this thread. 2 weeks back i regularly checked most of the team bhp meet threads like Bangalore, Chennai, Pune etc to check out mode of t-bhp meets. Wanted to check feasibility of similar meet in Mangalore. Last week I did not check the meet section and today I open and see this I was in mangalore last week, I would have surely attended this meet.

Any ways, nice pics guys enjoyed this thread.

looking forward for next meet!
