Now, my parents might join me from Delhi and they are both senior citizens. I will therefore require inputs from MX6, Raja Babu no.1 and others on hotels similar to Ginger or better in/around Satara. As we might travel a day earlier and stay overnight to start the drive from Satara itself.

BTW MX6, my snaps complete with the small eyes and stubble are finally up on the forum, check out this thread

The pleasure is mine. I'd drive out to Kaas early morning. Now you have two options. Stay overnight at Pune with your folks and drive out with me or stay overnight at Satara and then drive out to Kaas from there. I'd be starting around 5:30 am from Pune which would make me reach Satara by 8 (there's a mandatory stop at Nataraj that I have to make).
Now that your small eyes and stubble are up there, I'm going to continue with more pics in the pune - mumbai mega meet!

Today's ToI news is that the monsoon will bring surplus rain in August and September - so we can be sure of an abundance of the flowers. Only wish that all those visiting this place leave it as it is...

Near the waterfall...
One can reach near this waterfall.The same water flows downstream to make one of the very beautiful waterfall.

On the way back. It was not raining heavily at that time as it did in last couple of weeks.We experience very sparse rains even at a place like Thoseghar.
